It's been brought to my attention (again) that some of you are looking for compensation for the work you're doing. I'm open to that. So tell me, Retrospecters, what is it that you're looking for? Money? Answers? None of the above? I'm all ears.

The scouting project seems to be working out okay. I don't know if any of you have found a place that's really good to relocate or recover but maybe we should talk about that, too.

…finally, bit of a morality question for you.

What's the priority here, you think? Working on chasing Vanderweele down this rabbit hole of a wild goose chase (wow that is too many animal analogies), or memory recovery of the company itself? Both of them are about as convoluted as you think, but not impossible.

Wait, not finally. One more thing since someone brought it up: in case you haven't noticed yet, you might want to pay attention to the things you've managed to bring back because, and I hate to make it sounds real drastic, but the fate of the world kinda depends on it? Just a little. Welcome to your destiny, everybody.

Eh, I can use it as an excuse to eat mochi. Like, all the mochi. So there's at least one upside to it all.

Mochi's pretty good so that's an upside for sure.

It's funny, when I'm acting I go by a stage name and I was actually giving that to people at first. Now it seems pretty silly to worry about that now with everything else that's going on.

Besides, I clearly trust you if I'm willing to share mochi.

And it's funny that you trust someone you've only talked to over the internet, though. But I don't mind it.

Some of my best friends are people I've only talked to through the internet, both now and in my past life. Though I guess it makes a little more sense in a VR world.

I don't really make friends online myself, but you're probably right on that front. Although admittedly the VR games we have right now are a little clunky.

The VR in my past life was really advanced. Like, you could actually live in those words without too much trouble. There was even food! Talk about the ultimate way to cheat a diet.

It is. The problem was the system could also be used to trap people in the game... even apparently kill them.

Though I don't know if it ever actually happened, or if it was just an idle threat.

That sounds like a pretty messed up system. Something you'd see in a show, actually.

There's a little part of me that wishes it was. It would explain a lot.

But I have this horrible feeling a lot of bad things happened in that game.

Bad things happening in a video game is... again, common.

I guess they'd be pretty boring otherwise, huh?

I don't know that I've heard of that one, though. I think I got too tied up in the MMORPG end of things. Well, that and Stellarmist Canyon.

Well, I mean it's not exact but like... if you want a game where bad shit happens in MMOs that deals with comas and potential death? Play .hack.

Hmmmm, I don't think I've seen that one before. I wonder if it makes any more sense than the one I remember.

...though maybe I'll wait to play it until after I remember whether or not I survived Sword Art Online. It might feel a little too real otherwise.
