You all acted like I was delusional for taking a picture of a creepy man in black, but WHAT HAVE YOU TO SAY NOW?

Does the disappearance of an entire species from the public consciousness strike you as a bit odd? And I just spent a good thirty minutes stuck inside the most suspicious headquarters building imaginable!

Okay, yeah. That just showed up today, right? You went in there?

Yes, not that it did me much good. The doors were all locked and no one was inside.

And you got trapped in it? How did that happen?

The front door has an automatic lock. I'd bring something to stop it, if you plan on paying a visit.

Of course, most automatic doors lock to prevent people from getting in, but this one was open until I got inside. Then it locked behind me.

Yeah. That is kinda weird.

How'd you get out?

Believe it or not, by posting something here. The door opened by itself shortly after.

That's... yeah, that's not cool. Kinda confirms my theory that it was spyware or something when it suddenly showed up on my phone. But, I can't get rid of it.

Yes, it's the same for me. At first I thought it was because there are so many settings on my phone that no reasonable human being could hope to understand them all.

But other people have said the same thing. If I hadn't had the program, I would have been trapped.

You said it was empty? Like... completely empty? Or was there like furniture and stuff?

No, empty of people. There were some chairs, a potted plant. An elevator. The things you'd find in an office, except no papers or numbers that were of any use in trying to get out. I tried to find some way to contact the custodian, but no luck.

Were you able to get past the lobby? You know, like if you had gone further in instead of trying to get back out?

No. I contemplated trying to break the door open, but I was with an officer.

I'm sure if the two of you were trapped, and you broke the door to get out, he'd probably let you off the hook.

Maybe. Luckily, it didn't come to that. So I guess I'll have to wait for another opportunity to break a door down.

Hmm... what about building sand castles and knocking them down? Or playing Jenga? Don't tell me you enjoy setting it up more than watching it fall down!

Dude... the whole point of both of those things is to keep them standing.

Sandcastles are like sculptures. You don't want to destroy something you put a lot of hard work into creating.

And the point of Jenga is to keep it up and not let it fall. You lose the game if it falls.

Sand castles are inherently fleeting. Even if you don't destroy them, they fall apart in a day, so you might as well pretend you're Godzilla and give yours a good stomping before you go.

And the point of Jenga is to prevent it from falling on your turn. You win if you make the other player destroy the tower instead.

Yeah, but you can preserve them to some extent by digging a channel to redirect the water.

Aaaand, if you do something to make the tower fall while it's your opponent's turn, that's technically cheating.

That's only kicking the can down the road.

Also, it's not cheating if it's not against the rules. Don't tell me you've never tried to distract someone during a Jenga game.

Well, as long as you're only doing it to your own sandcastle, I guess it doesn't really matter in the long run.

Distracting isn't cheating. Finding a way to specifically make it fall is.
