There's got to be at least one comics nerd on here. Someone explain to me what all these old comics are supposed to be, and why they all have me in them. And before you say "just google it," I did and I couldn't find anything. I have no idea where Retrospec dug these up from. Also, I've got one free ticket to the shooting range I'm willing to share. The only catch is you have to be 18+ and willing to take me too. Let me know if you're interested.

I wouldn't have suggested testing. Your body would probably feel different, somehow, I would expect. And yes, I'd say the things I've seen have been very undesirable, though some I've heard of have been worse.

Anyway I'm not gonna make you tell me about them or anything but you're right. The hallucinomemories are pretty terrible. Haven't had a single good one yet.

In my defense, I didn't know you'd try, heh. Not everyone has gotten strength who has received strange powers. For me, it was my agility, apparently. I can do acrobatic feats I never imagined I'd do, the sorts of things you see in the olympics, or those shows about parkour.

I don't suggest trying them, mind you, unless you're good at that sort of thing already. I'm still getting the hang of it, and falling on your butt hurts.

Okay see all of this cement-punching acrobatic stuff? Sounds pretty awesome. But how do you even trust it, with all the other creepy stuff Retrospec's done to us?

For all we know, we're their human experiment guinea pigs. Superpowered, but powerless to them and completely at their mercy.

Trust? I can't trust any of this not to come back somehow and cause me untold trouble. Nothing about the situation is trustworthy, and I think you may have figured out something there. It does feel like we are guinea pigs, test subjects of whatever it is that they are doing.

And that they have no clue what they are doing.

Of course they know what they're doing, they're doing it to us, aren't they?

The second we underestimate them is the second we lose.

I don't underestimate what they're capable of, but I have my doubts that they are fully aware of what they're actually working with. They're very dangerous, but it is like someone playing with fire.

Either way, we can't turn our backs on them for a minute.

So you're gonna just parkour around until their tech or experimentation or whatever backfires?

Carefully, and I wasn't really planning to parkour around that much. I was thinking more the gym.

Well, let's call them acrobatic skills, shall we? They're very similar after all. And we will see how long it lasts.

I don't know. I am watching for signs of it disappearing, but it hasn't quite yet and I've been dealing with it for a few weeks now.

We will see.

I figured all the changes were permanent--fruit, hallucinomemories, and parkour included. You think it could all be temporary?

For the moment, everything seems permanent, but at the same time I don't know whether to trust them about that, or to trust the situation. People have disappeared off the app and returned to normal, remembering nothing of horses, and without strange powers.

Who is to say what is possible here?

I didn't know people could leave this app. I thought it was like a Hotel California type situation, but with social media.

And let me guess: we don't have a choice in whether we disappear off the app or not.

I didn't until relatively recently, and to this day none of us that I've spoken to know how it happened. But, since we didn't control how we got onto it, why should we control our departure?

Makes about as much sense as anything else on this app. You don't get to do or decide anything, Retrospec does it all for you, including giving you powers or kicking you out.

And for that reason, the urge to investigate them and find out what they are really after just mounts that much more, but in the end it is very easy for us to run in circles. Almost like that's their intention, isn't it?

They're obviously messing with us just for fun. It just makes me want to find them that much more and make them answer for all the crap they put us through.

I'll agree it's the most likely reason, and personally I really want to punch Jim in the nose.

I do believe that a great many people are now waiting in line to break his nose. They will never be able to set it right at this rate, no doubt.
