[ooc: Guess whose niece is coming tomorrow? His. Guess who puts off shopping and redecorating to the last possible moment? This guy. Also don't let him at things that are basically giant model kits.]

no kidding.
this is the way i see it. you have two choices:
either she sleeps in the living room, or you dismantle the bed. it won't fit through a standard door, and even if it could, it'd be so difficult to carry that whoever was moving it would be risking serious injury.

hey, don't be so glum.
it's a pain in the ass, but it'll work out. i'm sure she'll appreciate it.

it's more important that you don't kill yourself trying to move a loft bed.
but her happiness is important too.

you're welcome. and good luck.
it won't be as difficult to reassemble it a second time around,
since you've got experience under your belt.

it sounds like it. you have to have a lot of patience for it. that virtue was never my strong suit.

i hike. my dad and i go fishing...
and um, i used to build robots. don't know if i'd call that a "hobby," though.

ha. i guess you could say that.
i never built fighting robots. practical things...for the most part. once i programmed an rc car to operate itself.

ah, it wasn't too bad. nothing compared to making a bigger rig. just a matter of creating a neural network and...

uh. ok maybe it was kind of difficult
a fighting robot would be a little easier if it were radio controlled.
i don't know about an autonomous one. it's possible, of course. sticking to toys for something like that is safer. a giant, self-thinking combat machine would be a bad idea on all sides.

now i'm thinking about trying this. the smaller, kid-friendly version,
that is

i'd never considered being a toymaker...
but i'll give it a shot. it should be fun to try, at least. i need to practice anyway.
i've gotten rusty.

the short version of a long story is that I found something that suited me better.

sure. if i can make something functional, i'll let you know.
