So. A few things.
First. Dave! I want my membership card! Talking robot spider tank with a grenade launcher. Apologies to Koutarou for stealing some of his modeling clay to make my toy up there. I still remembered nothing about myself, though, so the betting pool is still open. Anyone who wants in on the 'What Is Togusa Repressing' pool, let me know. I think the odds on 'samurai' just got a lot longer, though.

The second thing is a little more important. A few of us made it into the subway, which is supposed to be shut down, the lines were damaged. The trains sure aren't running, but either it's shut down intentionally, or someone has taken advantage of it. Throughout the line connecting Enprise to Tisse, there are these QR codes all along the floor. They're those things you can scan with your phone to see a picture or other information. Scanning them didn't get any data, though.

The other area I went through, I don't even know how to explain what I saw. Try going to the middle of town. Next time, I ought to bring a camera with me.

I know that as soon as I post this up, Retrospec will probably try to lock it all down even tighter than they already have. But seeing as how I was assuming that's how they were getting things through the city without us noticing? If we can make them stop using it, I'll call that a victory.

First off, I'm glad you made it out safely, Officer. That's a lot of new information we can use.

Secondly, what's this in the center of the city?

Speaking as the other guy who just got us a lot of new information? I still don't even know how to approach what you put up on the network, but thank you for it. It's sort of put an idea in my head, though. I'll let you know when it's fully formed.

It was me and a friend, we were walking, one step we were underground, and then it was like we were starting to head outside. Which shouldn't have happened that early. The subway tracks lead all the way out of the city, but not right underneath the center of town?

And then it was like we walked a little too far and were right back where we started.

Did you see anything unusual like the cracks? Anything that obviously looks like reality is warping?

I guess the QR codes would be warning enough, somehow. At this rate, I'm wouldn't be surprised.

I'm pretty sure there were not. After my encounter with those things I was keeping a sharp eye out for more.

They just kind of call to you, anyway. I doubt I would've been able to ignore them if they were down there. I got really lucky to find my way out of there.

Warning. What are they trying to warn us about then? I hate this, none of it makes sense.

I don't know. Warning that something strange is about to happen. Warning that this is someplace Retrospec is working. I don't know they got down there without catching anyone's attention, but I'm sure they have the ability to do so.

I'm trying to find a pattern in whatever nonsense is popping up.

How they got down there seems easy, though. The whole system is shut down for construction, supposedly, it's a good way to keep people from looking at it too closely.

But why do they keep giving us information that is not information?

Again, not something we're going to figure out right now.

If you're looking for historical records of the city, that'd be more the library than the museum, right?

It depends on what kind of information you're looking for. Libraries have newspapers and compiled accounts. The museum would have the actual historical documents and collections of written pieces showcasing how life was like back then.

Basically, books are written by people that look at the archives and pick out primary sources.

Hunh. I guess I had thought about that, but I'd never looked into how the history books get written.

So. Okay. What if I want to know what used to be standing on a certain spot in town? Or if there used to be a building in a specific location?

[Because what's the only location in town that everyone is suddenly interested in?]

You would have to look at old city plans. Those could be found in the university archives, which the museum has a joint partnership with. Normally, we aren't interested in maps as items to study, so they're more useful in a research institution.

Would you have quicker access to that sort of data than other people? I mean, would it be easier for you to look it up, or would it be too much trouble?

That's correct. I can get access to the library stacks as a professional researcher.

Would you be willing to look into it, then?
