As long as the changes were being made to our memories, it was plausible to argue that this was some sort of hypnosis, something done by Retrospec to our brains. However:

1) The experiment to disconnect from electronics that may be affected by Retrospec returned no results. We still felt the effects while disconnected.

2) This "shrinking" and the holes in reality cannot be explained by hypnosis. They are very real.

At what point do we begin to question the fabric of reality itself?

They either control our memories or reality itself.
In light of that, I think control of anything cannot be placed beyond them.

So you implicate our government and police as well?

Directly? No, I have no evidence of that.
The police especially, I have seen nothing within the department that would be suspicious.
But control of our institutions cannot be dismissed.

So do you have any ones there is proof for, or are we working off "can change the world, can probably change someone's mind?"

The latter, I'm afraid.

I live by myself. My grandparents raised me,
and they live in the suburbs.
Besides, my grandfather was a detective in his day. He understands the desire to seek the truth.

I'm still working on that, to be frank.
I'd like to collect information from anyone else who experienced the cracks in reality.

But alright.

I ended up inside of a hole, and wandered through dark smoke for some time. Eventually, things which seemed like stars appeared, and the man I was with began to pass out, pained in his mind. And I received a new memory, only to pass out myself shortly thereafter. That was one instance.

A new memory? Can you tell me about it?
That seems broadly in line with our other experiences.

Picture a bat tornado. Some people were shouting about how they lost control of their bats and then I swoops in and picked up someone.
