Good afternoon. For those who don't know me, my name is Cleo Ritter, and I am a rather recent addition to this Retrospec community. I have some questions, to those of you who have received the strange visions after being made a part of this. Specifically, if you're willing, I'd like to hear about those visions. I thought if we collaborate and make a list of what kinds of visions each person receives, we might be able to find a pattern as to who gets what, and perhaps piece together a more complete understanding of what is going on here. Thank you in advance for being willing to share this, and I hope this will prove useful.

i suppose that works fine if you don't actually plan to take whatever strange control they have away from them.

I fully intend to do so. But I can hardly do that without knowing anything about them.

that is the main problem right now, isn't it.

but again, they are giving us a platform to compare notes. it's only a matter of time before we find out enough to push back.

Though it would be wiser to compare notes away from the platform our enemies have given us.

it would, though i'm not sure how much of a difference it would make, given the fact that they're apparently capable of seeing us wherever we are.

I take your point. It would be nice if we knew the limits of their surveillance.

i'd say at least they can't read our minds, but i'm sure you can see the reason why i'm not confident in saying that.

still, i suppose if there have been successful "infiltrations" into places they're trying to keep us out of, having that surveillance doesn't mean they can actually stop us.

Not only are they able to read our minds, they are able to insert fantastical visions into our minds. It becomes difficult to trust any findings made if I think too hard about it. But if they are able to control everything we see and hear, and even everything we remember, then it is a lost battle from the start. So I must assume they can't control everything.

it's certainly better to assume that than succumb to despair, isn't it. [At least it gives them the illusion of having some sort of control, even if it's not real.]

Yes. We would never uncover answers that way. Although, perhaps it would stymie whatever game Retrospec is playing.

i'm sure that would only cause them to bring in more naive people so they could be properly amused again.

in any case, hopefully we'll be able to find some sort of pattern in these visions, as unlikely as it seems.

I hope so. I've found none yet, but it could simply be a lack of data points.

i was told there are about 160 of us in this, two weeks ago. even if we all only had one or two, i'm sure any connections between them would at least start to show if we could gather them.

though i doubt everyone would be willing to cooperate. [Unfortunately, people are people. Ren himself isn't willing to go into the details of his own vision.]

You're right. I've not had much luck. Perhaps I should ask for assistance from one more well-established in this community.

it couldn't hurt. the more we all know each other, the better we'll be able to handle this, most likely.

That is true. Trust in each other is important, after all. If we can rely on each other, it will make Retrospec's changes much easier to deal with.

speaking of trust, i've heard there's a trend of family and friends getting sucked into this at the same time. was it like that for you?

I don't know about at the same time. But most of my friends and acquaintances are members of this community already.

[she is silent on the subject of family, though.]

it sounds like you're fortunate, then. that should make it easier to find the ones who are involved in all of this.

if anyone i know is a part of it, i'm not aware of them.

You can ask without fear. If they are not part of Retrospec, they will have no memory of it afterwards, nor will they be able to see anything.

it's not exactly something i feel like making the rounds asking about. not to mention i can imagine how depressing it might be to realize all the people you're asking in a row know nothing.

but i suppose it's sort of forcing us to make new "friends" if we don't already have them in this.

Now I want to be even less social out of spite.
