Right, so. I've seen much and more about Retrospec sending out *weapons* through the post, but I think this might be a first. Whatever it is. If anyone else out there has some idea of exactly what this is -- aside from the obvious "it's a helmet," thank you, already got that one figured out -- then I'd be glad to hear it, because I haven't got a clue.

Chloe Bouchard If you were the one to be sent it, you will no doubt know what it is eventually, but I have never seen its like.

Suppose it could be, but this was all that came packed in the box.

If you ask me I'd say it looks more like a movie prop than anything grounded in actual history. But to pick it up... It feels like it's made of real metal, not rubber or anything else.

Good idea. Better idea that I decided not to toss the packaging after all, I suppose. Not sure if the helmet itself would turn up anything useful, though.

I would assume more decorative than functional as a helmet.
Meant to intimidate rather than protect.

I'm inclined to agree. Just looking at it makes it hard to tell just how anyone might see out of this thing.

I've seen one similar in my hallucinomemories. On a guy who called himself a Judge.

That does seem to be the one unarguably true fact about this whole situation so far, yes.

[ really, the craftsmanship looks far too ornate for this to be the helm of any ordinary rank-and-file soldier... which brings back to mind what penelope just told him about the "judge" she saw. it still doesn't sit well with him. ]
