Right, so. I've seen much and more about Retrospec sending out *weapons* through the post, but I think this might be a first. Whatever it is.

If anyone else out there has some idea of exactly what this is -- aside from the obvious "it's a helmet," thank you, already got that one figured out -- then I'd be glad to hear it, because I haven't got a clue.

I would assume more decorative than functional as a helmet. Meant to intimidate rather than protect.

I'm inclined to agree. Just looking at it makes it hard to tell just how anyone might see out of this thing.

It's got horns, as well. A grabbing point is a terrible idea for something meant to protect you.

Perhaps if the horns were angled in such a way that they could be used offensively then they would be less of a liability, but I have a difficult time imagining how that might work.

A headbutt would likely be an awful idea as well. For many, many reasons.

There is a small amount of leather padding on the interior, but yes, I am once again inclined to agree.

[ then again, the amount of sharp points and scalloped edges look like they could do quite a bit of damage — if, perhaps, the helm itself were to be used as a blunt weapon. he's not especially keen to try it with the thing on his head. ]

So Retrospec gives armor, even if it's decorative? It's nice to know it's not just weapons.

Indeed. Though I have to wonder what kept them from sending out the whole set rather than just this one piece.

If the rest of the armor is so pointlessly ornate, I wonder if they simply can't figure out how to package it.

That seems to be the most likely answer by far.

That, and I can only imagine how exorbitant the shipping costs must be.
