Right, so. I've seen much and more about Retrospec sending out *weapons* through the post, but I think this might be a first. Whatever it is.

If anyone else out there has some idea of exactly what this is -- aside from the obvious "it's a helmet," thank you, already got that one figured out -- then I'd be glad to hear it, because I haven't got a clue.

As far as I know, there's no history professors on here, but you can still take a photo to that department. I'd suggest looking into ancient-- well. I was going to say Roman or Greek history, but it might make more sense for you to look into whatever part of the world you or your family is from.

Roman might well be close enough, but I must wonder what bearing, if any, my ancestral history has on this thing. Given what I've seen in my "hallucinomemories" so far, to discover that this sort of armor originates from anywhere on Earth would be no small shock.
