finding things?

putting aside the fact that two colors have been removed from the spectrum for the sake of my own sanity: does anyone recognize this?



i found it near my work and got the sense that it was mine, even though i've never seen it. i know that whoever's behind all this has sent people strange items directly, but has anyone just found things seemingly at random?

i liked that other guy's helm better.

the things i heard myself say were unsettling.

i was a part of some sort of war, it seemed. apparently i had no issues with cloning people or raising children purely for the sake of becoming soldiers.

My own seems rather wanton with the use of her knives, so I can sympathize with how unsettling it is.

you're right. i'm sure there was some reason for it, even if i could never condone that sort of thing myself. war makes people accepting of things they normally wouldn't accept, even on earth.

still, the main thing that's helping me accept it is the idea that it was someone else.

That's how I treat it as well. It's not a bad way to think of it, in my opinion. It separates what they did, however horrific, from you.

even if there is some sort of karma that goes into this, it was still another place and another life. it doesn't define us.

i don't like the idea of having to take responsibility for things i didn't do.

And for me, it is less the responsibility so much as the fact that I don't want to have been the person or done what they have done. But in the end, it is the same.

i suppose i should thank you for offering to listen. [That's him actually thanking her. What are manners.] that i'm not the only one to feel that way is encouraging, especially after that post earlier suggesting that our lives aren't real.

Naoto is struggling for answers. He is a very logical boy, and wants to deduce all things, so he runs from theory to theory. I can't fault the intent, but I think he is reaching a little hard this time, prematurely. We don't know enough yet to say something like all that.

That, and I'd prefer it if he's wrong.

i'm not typically a patient man myself, but it sounds like he needs to wait before making assumptions. [Kids. Bah.]

i'm fairly certain we aren't going to be able to figure this out only a few months into it.

I suspect that the lack of information is frustrating him. I won't argue that he shouldn't wait to be so definitive. But time will help us answer the questions more truthfully.

i wasn't the only one agitated by what he said, from what i can see.

perhaps in his search for logic he forgot to consider people's feelings.

I have known him off and on for a while. We were in cram school together. Naoto has a somewhat underdeveloped empathy. Sweet boy, but not really the most aware of other's feelings. Very much the cold, logical detective sort. Appropriate that he wants to be a policeman.

i'm not sure it's all that appropriate if he can't understand people's feelings, but i suppose better a policeman than a therapist.

Heh, well he's just a student, like me, right now. He's not a policeman yet after all. Just a very precocious investigator if you will. The situation makes for strange alliances.

i can agree with that, at least. i doubt i would have met most of the people i have in the past month without this entire experience.

[Or even if he had met them, he probably wouldn't have cared enough to talk to them.]

I might have met one or two, as I would be in college next semester, and there are some that I would definitely have at least met once because of my applications, but most of them? No, and certainly not this closely.

In a way, that is something I forgive them for. The new friends have been nice.
