finding things?

putting aside the fact that two colors have been removed from the spectrum for the sake of my own sanity: does anyone recognize this?



i found it near my work and got the sense that it was mine, even though i've never seen it. i know that whoever's behind all this has sent people strange items directly, but has anyone just found things seemingly at random?

i liked that other guy's helm better.

It does.
I'm doing some image searches and not coming up with anything either.
Do you think it's Retrospec, then?

i do. i don't usually get the urge to pick up random things off the street. [Maybe sometimes if they look valuable. But this is different.]

yes. i was wearing something over my face, and my voice sounded like it was being filtered through something electronic.

this thing has some kind of voice changer in it. it would explain that aspect.

I would advise against wearing it until you know more about it.
But then, given that it's Retrospec, I would advise you to throw it into the ocean.

i suppose you're right. it's got at least two electronic features, and i don't know what else it might be able to do.

there probably isn't much harm in keeping it locked in a box somewhere, at least.

I can think of many things.
Sealing and being unable to be taken off, poisoning you, or simply passively spying on you and sending all you do to Retrospec.

aren't they already passively spying on us? adding another device to do that seems extraneous.

We don't know how they do it.
It could very well be devices like this.

i suppose. but they were already capable of taking pictures of me from in my own home, so i'm not sure adding something else would help them that much more.

But I cannot say I know why Retrospec would give you something like that at all.

i suppose it's the same for everything it's doing. for their own entertainment, as we try to understand why they're doing this.

at least this might be able to function as armor somehow, if it comes down to it.

And I hope it never becomes necessary anyway.

preparing for the worst doesn't always mean using the safest methods. but i hope so as well.

I would say that preparing should use the safest method.
Use unsafe methods only when you've ran out of the safe methods you have prepared.

if safer methods are available, yes. but typically "the worst" means that better ways aren't usable.

i suppose i could buy armor that didn't come from retrospec.

I can't say I've ever looked for that before.
But I imagine a shop for things like paintball supplies or similar might have something.

for now, though, i'll probably wait until it seems more necessary. it doesn't seem they've done anything particularly violent... yet.
