I actually don't have finals per se this year (yay middle school) but I do still have a couple of tests coming up

I guess I thought acting is one of those fields where you have to do it for free for a long time before you make it big

No, you need to get paid for your work.
Even advertisements need to pay the actors and other workers.
If they're not paying it's not worth it.

also you should let people know when you are performing

I'm probably in the background of stuff more often than I get speaking lines.
