Let's just say I have some experience.

But to answer your question, certain types of cat food aren't so bad. Not sure about dog food though.

dogs are way less spoiled so you can feed em just about anything
convenient for dogs
less convenient for people who want to ear like em

Much less convenient, but that may work in our favour. We can both enjoy a nice human meal like grilled steak and we'll be fine.

I'm not sure if my cats would like that, though. They're quite the picky eaters.
