but it's an effort in futility since they never reply
and at the rate things are escalating i dont have the energy to spare

the last week of june aged me ten years
someone i know got a really shitty memory i had to help them work through
then the next day my apartment burns down
then i get a shitty memory of me offing myself
and to top it all off my best friend's off the network now
so talking to her just...isn't the same, acting like nothing is wrong
it was just one thing after another

Yeah, but I don't give a damn about most of the people here. It matters because some of the people are, personally, my people.
It's like how death comes for everyone. Sure, whatever, but I am not fucking cool with the fact that it will eventually hit the people who matter to me.

thats unrealistic
once this is all over and done with im holing myself back up in my apartment and never talking to 98% of you again
we might occasionally pass each other on the street and exchange knowing looks like "yeah, that happened, that sucked"
but for the most part i dont actually disagree with you

i just think...if we're all here, we may as well make the most use out of each other
for the sake of the people who do matter to us
and unfortunately that means going the extra mile in some cases
because a lot of the people here...
i dont know if youve noticed, but theyre really starved for attention or friends
so i think a lot of them are using this as an excuse to make friends, despite how fucked up the circumstances are
which means indulging them in that will get you their cooperation
fake it till you make it

there is that
someone's always going to look somewhere you didn't, or just have more luck with something and just straight up stumble onto information

but i can admit this situation is too big for me to handle by myself, too
and you have to be able to recognise what other people can do to make use of them

like the pageant a while back
i had 0 chance of winning
but anya is very charismatic and charming and cute
so i entered her instead on my behalf
we didnt win, but i still increased the odds than if id done it myself
she's an example of someone who doesn't fight and who likely isn't sleuthing her way through the retrospec hq to figure this out
but she still has talents and skills of her own
it's all about knowing the right person for the job

It's possible for people to just be using Anya, but I'm reasonably confident that you are not that level of heartless despite what you might indicate.
You have to be a unique rank of evil to meet that.
