Hello Users, For those of you who are new: Welcome to Retrospec™, the last social media network you will ever need. You are one of the few selected to test this exciting new platform based on our cutting-edge algorithms. Membership is not currently open to the public. However, we hope you will come to see how useful Retrospec™ is, given time. We have for your use a variety of features such as text, voice, video, and image posts. We encourage you to explore our many options. For all, new and old: Please be advised that should you go above and beyond the call of duty for Mr. Halloway's little game in the coming days, there may be a reward granted or information given. 100% completion would be the goal for that, should you have an interest. If you have no interest in the matter, please feel free to carry on as usual. R&D will not be handling further communiques for this month, or possibly the next few months. This should not, of course, have any impact on your usage of Retrospec™. The first milestone for the second of the colors lost has been met, and accordingly we have diverted resources to fix what could be fixed. R&D has alerted me that a bigger loss may occur in the near future, and I would advise you to be careful, though I am afraid neither they nor I can be much more detailed than that. Finally, I would like to extend congratulations to those of you who have now reached your sixth month. We hope you will continue to accept our assistance in these trying times. Thank you for your patience, Janet Wiseman Human Resources Retr ![]() As of this post green fruits and flowers of this color regain their pigment. (Note: this is not all plants. This is just for flowers and fruits!)
Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently. Any new characters will find that the first photo they upload is locked as their profile picture for the rest of the month. Characters who have been in game since February will find their profiles now have a 6 months badge. It does absolutely nothing of note. |

annnnnd what is the government's ultimate goal here
no subject
Perhaps they're experimenting with how much they can warp reality or even just the perceptions of reality for a large group of people. If they can properly succeed doing so, think of how much power they'd have and how many battles they could win.

battles against who? why on their own citizens? why now?
i mean, i guess i see the appeal of reality bending. but the government did it is the ultimate conspiracy.
[the government is never gonna be able to outdo JFK ok]

1)Against anyone who opposes them.
2) Because they can't experiment on other country's citizens without resistance.
3) Now because they've finally just perfected their reality bending machines.
And maybe an ultimate conspiracy is really what is at work here. What makes more sense than this going all the way up to the very top?

the fact that the president hasn't tweeted about it invalidates this entire conspiracy
he... hasn't tweeted about it, has he?
no subject
i don't know what's going on here, but i don't buy the government being in on it. smooth operators is just not what they do.
no subject
What makes you assume that the president is actually the ring leader?
He's just a stand-in figure. The real operators of the country are behind him in the shadows. They are the ones responsible for this experiment, of course.

something like this, if we post it on facebook, doesn't even get picked up by some of those crazy conspiracy sites, when this is the type of stuff they'd eat up.
if the government had the ability to get rid of every negative conspiracy theory about them, right here and now, no consequences... why wouldn't they?
[he truly is the Not Fun brother. ok.]

The government can't delete all these conspiracy theories without drawing attention to themselves. That's practically saying "look, it's us!" if we notice that only theories about the government are being erased. It's far too easy. It's best for them to just let us run our mouths because if we do, no one will really believe us.

ok, sure, if it had stopped at the horses, i'd buy that.
but when you get rid of the concept of 'blue' as a color, it becomes a little harder to suspend my disbelief that they couldn't immediately change how the mountains of evidence appear to every conspiracy theorist.
after all, how many songs based on the color blue just suddenly stopped making sense? the concept of feeling blue? that's changing some deep cultural ingraining. i can't imagine it wouldn't work the same for conspiracy theorists. the reason it hasn't is because whoever is in charge of this doesn't care, which means it's not the government. half the reason they'd want something like this is to get unquestioning trust/ignorance when weird stuff goes down.
hell if i was the head of the cia, getting rid of the jfk and deep state conspiracies would be at the top of my list.

But again, this all makes sense if we subscribe the theory that we are cut off from the rest of the world. Maybe in just Recolle, the colour blue, the horses, the shrinking, it's all isolated to this one area. By cutting off our connection to the outside world and by putting us through a strict social media app that goes through them, they're in control over who gets to see our comments. And if they're already in control, there's no need to go and restrict what we're trying to say. Nothing we post will make it to the outside world anyway.
It doesn't matter if the government wants to gain our trust. In a few years from now, they'd claim that we were all under the influence of a massive gas leak and we were just hallucinating everything that happened when it turned out that they were actually experimenting on us. This isn't the first time the government has directly lied to the public before. Project MKUltra happened once and it can happen again.

and thats srsly the worst part

i mean sure they might have the funding but isnt taking away colors from ppl a little 2 sinister?
and pointless?
no subject
The government here is attempting to see just how much or how little they can bend reality to their liking. Taking away something like colour is just an experiment to test how much power they have.

couldnt any evil org do that?
