Hello Users,

For those of you who are new: Welcome to Retrospec™, the last social media network you will ever need. You are one of the few selected to test this exciting new platform based on our cutting-edge algorithms. Membership is not currently open to the public. However, we hope you will come to see how useful Retrospec™ is, given time. We have for your use a variety of features such as text, voice, video, and image posts. We encourage you to explore our many options.

For all, new and old: Please be advised that should you go above and beyond the call of duty for Mr. Halloway's little game in the coming days, there may be a reward granted or information given. 100% completion would be the goal for that, should you have an interest. If you have no interest in the matter, please feel free to carry on as usual.

R&D will not be handling further communiques for this month, or possibly the next few months. This should not, of course, have any impact on your usage of Retrospec™.

The first milestone for the second of the colors lost has been met, and accordingly we have diverted resources to fix what could be fixed. R&D has alerted me that a bigger loss may occur in the near future, and I would advise you to be careful, though I am afraid neither they nor I can be much more detailed than that.

Finally, I would like to extend congratulations to those of you who have now reached your sixth month. We hope you will continue to accept our assistance in these trying times.

Thank you for your patience,

Janet Wiseman

As of this post green fruits and flowers of this color regain their pigment. (Note: this is not all plants. This is just for flowers and fruits!)

Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently. Any new characters will find that the first photo they upload is locked as their profile picture for the rest of the month. Characters who have been in game since February will find their profiles now have a 6 months badge. It does absolutely nothing of note.

Your theory has yet to provide a 'why'.

There's only so much data. None of it points to a "why" yet.

Rather than starting the prior argument again, I will simply point out we now have contact from a Retrospec representative who is at least somewhat less abrasive.
Who may be a point of contact to investigate further.
Although I do not believe a word of what she says.

Nor should you.
Consider the point: What do they gain by making us trust them?
cattack: (That's not good.)

[personal profile] cattack 2017-07-02 05:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I do not know.
But given their evident control over reality, our memories, and our bodies, they could in fact make us trust them.

[personal profile] truedetective 2017-07-02 07:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Possible.
That is, however, the one factor they haven't seemed interested in altering up until now.
They can alter our memories, but they haven't yet altered our thoughts or opinions.
As far as we know, anyway.

If they had, how would we know?

[personal profile] truedetective 2017-07-03 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Truthfully speaking, we wouldn't.
Yet many of us remain angry at or suspicious of Retrospec.
It's hard to see how they benefit from that.

[personal profile] cattack 2017-07-04 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
Believability would be my first guess.
We would think they cannot or do not do it, because we are angry at them.

[personal profile] truedetective 2017-07-04 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Plausible, yet still redundant.
If they could so totally control our opinions and feelings, that wouldn't be necessary.
Why act in a way to make us not suspicious, when they could just force us to not be suspicious in the first place?

[personal profile] cattack 2017-07-04 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Perhaps they cannot do that to this many people at once?

[personal profile] truedetective 2017-07-05 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
There's no evidence that disproves that, I suppose.
It's as reasonable a theory as any.
What I'm curious about is if maintaining this sort of control is active or passive.
In other words, are we being actively Awakened, and our "natural" state is to be unaware?
Or is our "natural" state to be Awakened and up until that point we're actively being suppressed?
