LOADING...OVERFLOW

Hello Users,

For those of you who are new: Welcome to Retrospec™, the last social media network you will ever need. You are one of the few selected to test this exciting new platform based on our cutting-edge algorithms. Membership is not currently open to the public. However, we hope you will come to see how useful Retrospec™ is, given time. We have for your use a variety of features such as text, voice, video, and image posts. We encourage you to explore our many options.

For all, new and old: Please be advised that should you go above and beyond the call of duty for Mr. Halloway's little game in the coming days, there may be a reward granted or information given. 100% completion would be the goal for that, should you have an interest. If you have no interest in the matter, please feel free to carry on as usual.

R&D will not be handling further communiques for this month, or possibly the next few months. This should not, of course, have any impact on your usage of Retrospec™.

The first milestone for the second of the colors lost has been met, and accordingly we have diverted resources to fix what could be fixed. R&D has alerted me that a bigger loss may occur in the near future, and I would advise you to be careful, though I am afraid neither they nor I can be much more detailed than that.

Finally, I would like to extend congratulations to those of you who have now reached your sixth month. We hope you will continue to accept our assistance in these trying times.

Thank you for your patience,

Janet Wiseman

As of this post green fruits and flowers of this color regain their pigment. (Note: this is not all plants. This is just for flowers and fruits!)

Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently. Any new characters will find that the first photo they upload is locked as their profile picture for the rest of the month. Characters who have been in game since February will find their profiles now have a 6 months badge. It does absolutely nothing of note.

This post is an overflow from the original post here. Feel free to either carry over threads from there or create entirely new ones.

Kazuhira Miller So the cracks in the world and those flowers are external, right? But the colors must be internal?
Kazuhira Miller I know reality is up for debate here, but it does feel like maybe both are true.

[Hell, he doesn't know. He's not the physicist in the conversation.]

Katherine Lutece The cracks in the world?
Katherine Lutece I'm afraid it's my cousin who's the physicist, Mr. Miller, not me. Can you elaborate on what you mean?

[Rosalind would probably understand entirely, but this is flying right over her head at the moment. External versus internal changes--does he mean changes that affect the world and changes that affect them personally? Or...?]

Kazuhira Miller Okay, think of it this way. The grass still has to be using sunlight, right? So it's gotta be green. We just can't see it.
Kazuhira Miller So that's on us. It's in our head.
Kazuhira Miller But the cracks in the world, the flowers, the Retrospec building, those are physical, tangible things.

Katherine Lutece Thank you, that explanation makes a lot more sense. I'm reasonably sure I pointed out something similar about grass last month.
Katherine Lutece So with this logic, something like remembering horses instead of chocobos would be an internal change, but dancing fruit would be an external change, right?
Katherine Lutece I do have another question, though. You've mentioned "cracks in the world" a couple times now. Can you explain what you mean by that? Classing it as external would mean that you've seen literal "cracks" in this world, but I haven't seen anything like that.

Kazuhira Miller That's abotu it,
yeah.

[There's no evidence that horses were ever real that he knows of, not yet. Just their memories.]

Kazuhira Miller I didn't see them, but some people saw cracks when we shrank in size. I heard about them secondhand. But people could only see them when we were small, so one of the cops was thinking that it could be that they wanted the world to notice.

Katherine Lutece That's an interesting theory. I wonder how many of us saw them, though? Without anything to call attention to them, only those people that stumbled right over those cracks would have noticed.
Katherine Lutece (That's all rhetorical, by the way. No need to indulge me.)
Katherine Lutece If not for the last couple of communications by Mr. Halloway, I'd wonder if they were trying to lead us to some sort of conclusion, but I'm afraid I've lost any faith in Retrospec's doings thanks to his antics.

Kazuhira Miller I'm impressed you had any faith to begin with.
Kazuhira Miller But I guess you meant "chance to earn your faith" anyway.

Katherine Lutece I try to stay optimistic.
Katherine Lutece Though it's getting increasingly harder by the month.

Kazuhira Miller Well, you gotta value someone with a sunny disposition.
Kazuhira Miller But yeah, I think I feel you there. Even I'm starting to get tired of it.

Katherine Lutece That's one way to describe it.

[When she's in a worse mood she tends to prefer "societal expectations of ambitious women," but what's a couple of descriptors between partners in forced social experimentation?]

Katherine Lutece How long have you been a part of this, if you don't mind my asking?

Kazuhira Miller Just a couple of months. I don't remember as much as other people. I don't know why.
