ANAMOLIES DETECTED ERROR CODE 41962 ERROR CODE 31256 ERROR CODE 26999 PROCESSING... PROCESSING... UNABLE TO LOAD PROGRAM. PLEASE CONTACT LOCAL TEMPORALSPATIAL TECHNICIAN FOR INSTRUCTIONS. Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently.
Please note that NPCs will not remember any of the members of Group 2 as having existed for the duration of this plot. Obviously this isn't a big deal, probably. Only members from Groups 1 and 3 may respond to this post. Set immediately post-this log, all characters will realize it is August 3rd! Groups 1 and 3 will notice that members of Group 2 are missing even if the NPCs are clueless as usual. The NPCs continue to think monsters are a normal thing as monsters continue to be a part of everyday life, although the monsters are now decidedly less holographic (despite their dissipation continuing to be a thing) and more hostile. If you would like to read along, check out this short directory! Remember, please do not comment on a log if you are not tagged in it! Comments made by characters in logs they are not a part of will be deleted. Thank you! Group One: Team Absinthe | Team Brandywine | Team Cognac | Team Daiquiri | Team Ethanol Group Two: Team Peter Pan | Team Snow White | Team Tarzan | Team Yzma You can also find August's plotting post with information here. |

I ran across him during the initial monster attack, but I can't say I've seen him since.
His family doesn't know who he is, am I reading that correctly?
How is that possible
no subject
Same here. I figured he'd be fine since he's the type who can look out for himself, but...
His family doesn't even know WHO he is!! It's as if he's never existed to them!
This is Cutter btw
no subject
He was setting quite a few monsters on fire just fine last I saw him, at least.
I can't see how that would possibly even work, though. I don't suppose you might have mistakenly gone to the wrong house...
[Wait what--]
Hold on, this is who? [guess who isn't privy to Cutter's cool nickname amongst friends: this guy apparently]
no subject
Cutter. You know, the sharp guy whom you helped with the fountain fishing? You also questioned my use of sensei.
[Hint hint, wink nudge, box.]
Impossible. I've visited him before. It was the right house and the right family.
no subject
[DON'T BLAME HIM FOR NOT KNOWING THE INTRICACIES OF YOUR NAME WOES??]
But that doesn't make any sense...this is ridiculous.
[Everything has been ridiculous lately but you know, just when he thought monsters literally tearing up the streets couldn't possibly be topped, here we are. Having people literally...vanish out of family memory, apparently??
That's stupid. This is stupid.]
I don't like it. When was the last time you saw him yourself?
no subject
During the con.
I don't like it either, but I doubt whoever is responsible for this cares about that. Seems like a whole list of people suddenly up and vanished
do you think they didn't make it through the black holes?
no subject
But anyway...]
Well, if we want to take the most grim outlook available, I suppose that's always a possibility. But there's not much to do about it, if that's the case, and besides that I'd like a confirmation more concrete than faulty memories from family members before we start a mourning process or anything.
Has anybody on this app forgotten about the missing people? From what I can see it doesn't appear so...
no subject
That's a pretty big fault in their memories, though, just saying.
I doubt it. But if they have they wouldn't notice it either, would they? Do you remember anything from when you were tossed through that black hole?
no subject
Yes, but suddenly treating monsters as a perfectly normal occurrence is a big fault too. Maybe the two things are related, maybe they're not. There's not enough information...I'd rather not jump to conclusions until we get more of it.
What, the ones that put people on the beach, you mean? I remember being very irritated after the fact, but it all seemed to go by pretty fast. [...Hm....] Now that you mention those, though...we've got no way to confirm that anyone ending up in those holes actually turned back up on the beach afterwards, do we?
no subject
[Who knows what's gonna happen when Shouto happens to people? He has faith in Silver and Karkat, but Shouto is a highly competent wild card.]
Yeah. We'd need a head-count for that, which won't be easy with how many seem to be just gone. But it might be worth a shot?
no subject
On the bright side, setting himself on fire has seemed like a pretty effective defense versus monsters so far...anyway--]
It might be, yes. I suppose I can ask around as I go...or maybe it's something to bring up to those that might be compiling a list of the missing already. Another factor to keep track of, at least.
[...]
You don't need to apologize about getting worked up over something like this. It's a concerning situation. And you said yourself that Shouto is a friend of yours.
But there's a happy medium to strike between being concerned and being proactive about fixing the problem. We can focus on that first instead of wasting energy imagining worst-case scenarios. So let's do that, alright?
no subject
And I'll try, thank you.
[There is a pause where Aizawa misses Cutter fidgeting for a long time before he finally gives in with a sigh and scrolls up for a moment. There's another long thinking phase before he finally sends another text.]
Cutter has been my nickname since forever. My family - the people who adopted me - are good people. I don't want to risk dragging them into anything just because I said something on the net.
[It's also a pun on both his birth name and the name of his family in his new life, so... He's grown fond of the more delicate in-joke hidden behind the cheesy obvious one.]
no subject
Huh.
There's a shorter, thoughtful pause on Aizawa's end before the reply comes.]
When you put it that way it makes sense, I suppose. I think most people these days tend to use different names on online forums anyhow or something for similar reasons, right?
[Though that's not exactly doable with this app, since it puts in. Your actual name regardless, apparently. Considering the name over Cutter's texts now, it finally occurs to Aizawa that the name listed there must be...a birth name or something. And with that...the nickname makes sense in another sort of way too.
It's a pretty unexpected detail to be privy to all of a sudden, like this. Here he'd been, assuming there wasn't any particular reasoning behind the nickname, but in the end...]
If you'd prefer I don't address you by your family's name on this app in the future I'd understand, in any case. Is that what you're wondering?
no subject
[Just like that, pretty much. Don't mix RL with online, what happens on the net stays in the net, don't let retrospec weirdness leak any further into his personal life. He isn't a terrible deep person with his wishes.]
If you could just call me Cutter unless asked otherwise that'd be nice. I mean, I know it's not feasible during school, just in -private?
no subject
Huh.]
In the classroom that definitely wouldn't be doable, no. [...] But if it's on this network, sure. No skin off my nose if that's really your preference for those reasons.
[In person outside school, on the other hand? Well...maybe. Aizawa never really could entirely let go of formalities even after moving to the more verbally casual climate of the States here--he tends to be on last-name basis with pretty much everyone school or not--and 'Cutter' isn't exactly first-name basis but still seems kind of casual too?? Texting it is one thing, saying it out loud is another. Who knows. (Honestly though, everybody's got to start chilling out somewhere, Aizawa....)]
no subject
It also makes me feel old.
[He's no mister yet, alright? He's a dude. No, wait, where'd that come from?! He's going to be a Mr., but in the respect-wielding mafia-style way! Dudes are something for beach parties, what the hell!]
no subject
Aizawa, oblivious to Cutter's sudden and intense internal debate over the semantics of mister vs dude, but amused at what he's reading:] Right, goodness forbid you start feeling like that. You're already practically done with high school, isn't that ancient in teen years already? But I guess everyone needs to stave off the reality somehow...
[Maybe this isn't the time to be sarcastic but it's happening anyway, the hook was right there sorry Cutter....]
no subject
Don't be silly, I'm still well below twenty. It's when people won't side-eye you for having a family that you know that you're old.
no subject
You say that now, but twenty will happen before you know it, and you won't even notice because it feels exactly the same as nineteen, and eighteen before that.
[LIKE FAIR WARNING OK even if Cutter literally never actually asked for this warning (too bad he's getting it regardless apparently). Anyway.....]
Is that the oldness metric people are using these days? Guess that's fair enough...if anything, people start side-eyeing you for not having a family around that point too.
no subject
[The question is out before he can question the wisdom of it and Cutter is left staring at his text with a mixture of 'oh crap' and awe. He's doing it. He's talking back to Mr. Aizawa, one of the school's sharpest hounds, and the chances of him surviving it are actually not that bad!]
I think I'll worry about this mess and how to survive it first before worrying about that. I'm still worried about what's gonna happen once the memories starts stacking up too much.
no subject
But it's true, things are weird. And this isn't exactly a classroom conversation or anything, so...]
1: That's awfully rude of you to assume.
2: That may or may not be what I've been told lately, but fortunately for me I don't care about the prospect or their opinions on such matters at all. Maybe someday you'll gain this kind of indifference too. It's very nice.
[Letting you off the hook for that tbh...FOR NOW....especially since, well--]
But that's also fair enough. No need to jump to conclusions yet there, either...ideally all this won't be lasting nearly long enough for a problem like that to happen. I can't see why it would.
Anyhow, let me know if anything else comes up about Shouto, will you? Or if things come up in general...evidently we've got enough radio silence coming from many people as it is, no need to add to it by not communicating about things.
no subject
Will do. Did you remember anything yet?
no subject
Remember things I've never experienced before, you mean?
There have been a couple now, yes. Why?
no subject
Just being curious. There seem to be a lot of loose threads that connect certain groups of people, so sometimes one has the answers another one is needing.
[That sounds innocent enough, right? Cutter isn't exactly keen to just go up and ask Aizawa if he remembers the time he threatened to expel them all on their first day of school just yet.]
no subject
So that's a trend, is it? Guess that makes sense... [........Couldn't hurt to mention it, since Cutter seems to know at least Shouto? Shouto already knows too. It'll probably come up eventually either way (assuming Shouto returns to say as much himself, as he should), so in the meantime--] Shouto and Midoriya have both cropped up in a couple of mine so far, now that you mention it. I've been wondering why that might be the case...still not sure I like it, exactly. At this rate I'm wondering if other students I've had are going to start showing up in them too, much as I'd much prefer they didn't. Have you been experiencing the same thing?
