So I'm not a big laws guy, but I'm pretty sure walking around with a giant scythe would be against some kind of law, despite that being a shitty kind of weapon. Does it make a difference, not-getting-arrested-wise, if that scythe is a book at the time?

[He'd say something about wanting it a month or two ago, but he can't lift it when it's a scythe, so it's not that useful.]

Also Retrospec doesn't care what your legal address is, but I don't think that should surprise anyone.

I don't know, I always thought scythes looked cool.

Though I'm not sure how a scythe can also be a book... that one's new.

Sure they look cool, but if you're going to use something as a weapon, you generally want the sharp part to be pointed not towards you. 'Magic bullshit' is the explanation I'm using for how this can turn from a scythe to a book and back.

I guess that's fair. I bet they're not really balanced either. Too easy to accidentally take your fingers off if you're not careful.

But at least they gave you an easy way to carry it...?

It's the only way I can carry it. I'm not going to be using it for its intended purpose anytime soon, I can't lift the thing.

True, though you could do that in a number of ways.

But I guess it'd be a waste to not use it if you've been given one.

Right now this isn't doing me any good. I can't even read the book that easily, it's in Tokyo-ben.

I was born in Recolle. But my parents have been to Kyushu a few times before.

Never. My Tokyo-ben would be better if I'd ever had to use it.
