Tatsuo Kihara shared a video.
09/15 near Tisse

Got some wheels.

[ooc: 1) pretend it's not almost 20 minutes long. 5 minutes at max. 2) mute the video and listen to this instead. 3) pretend it says things like 'Tisse' and 'Chata' rather than 'Nolita' and 'Central Park']

Yeah, they can be pretty dangerous.

[ Crap, he's that obvious, huh. ]

It's nothing.
I just remembered something motorcycle-related.
I doubt you'll be running anyone over, though.

[ That's what happens when you're friends, yep. ]

It was me.
I got run over by some guy.
Kind of?
It was in a sewer.
I doubt that's gonna happen again.

He had a lead pipe.
He drove at me, and I blocked, and he lost his balance and fell off.
It was kind of weird.

Yeah, I think so.
Probably?
I don't remember the rest, but I think he hated me.
The same guy having to cut off his pinkie because of me.
So...

[ Yakuza is weird, man. ]

whoops my bad

[personal profile] judgementkazzy 2017-09-28 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I don't remember all the details for why, but I'm pretty sure it was my fault.
The pinkie thing really happens, though.
If you screw up, you get a knife, a towel, and a board.
You can probably picture the rest.

It's really hardcore.

Yeah, that's how it works.
I saw this guy cut his finger off.
I guess he was pretty strong because he was still able to drive a motorcycle.

Yeah, it's a problem in Japan from what I read.
Some guys get prosthetic fingers or wear special gloves, that kind of thing.
Originally it was done so you couldn't hold a sword, but nowadays it really is only for appearances.

Exactly. It was carried over from the old samurai days.
Once you've messed up or betrayed the people who put their trust in you, everyone has to know that you're not trustworthy anymore, literally and figuratively, I guess.

[ It's pretty big. ]

I haven't dug into the prosthetics that much, but I imagine they're pretty close to passing for regular ones.
Yakuza would be the biggest demographic for them, and they make a lot of money.

Yeah, I assume so.
Though passing for a normal person isn't easy when you have all those tattoos.
It must be hard...
But then you don't lose a finger if you don't mess up.

[ That's NOT the way to think of things, Kiryu. ]

It's pretty hard unless you're wearing a suit all the time.

[ Majima probably has a good deal of trouble wearing normal shirts, for one... Good thing it's fall and they don't have to go to the beach anymore. ]

Exactly. You wouldn't betray your own family, especially when you know the consequences are so steep.

[ Just ask Majima why he got tortured-- he doesn't remember but.... ]
