I came home to find this guy in my apartment. Anyone know anything about owls? It's acting like it knows me! Like, IT'S WAVING!

I figure the rabbits are only in danger if their owners leave them outside.

What are you an animal whisperer? The owl already seems to like me, is there a point of getting it to like me more?

I may have taken one too many Biology classes.

Yes! Who knows what you can tell the owl to do for you? Make it fetch your things, attack your enemies, rid your house of pests.

Well my cat normally keeps those problems covered, but I guess I'll go find some owl treats somewhere.

And there is no such thing as too many science classes. I'm a CSI, you won't hear me complaining.

Really? The type that gets to examine all the interesting corpses?

Honestly we don't get that many bodies. That's more for the medical examiners. I deal more with toxicology. So I get to determine if someone was poisoned or something along the lines like that.

That's probably for the best. Still, that seems super interesting. How can you tell? What subjects do I have to take to get into the toxicology path?

[blondferret]

I can tell because I know my poisons and drugs. Toxicology covers a variety of fields: chemistry, biology, pharmacology, human and animal medicine, and environmental science. To get into it you'll can major in toxicology or a similar field such as chemistry, biology, biochemistry. I doubled majored in both Forensic Science and Chemistry. Laboratory experience is valuable, as well as courses in statistics and mathematics.

Do you have an interest in crime scene investigation?

I think, if I didn't have to take over the family business, I could go into crime scene investigation. It sounds like an exciting job. Places to go, corpses to poke, people to pressure until they tell the truth...

Maybe I can pursue toxicology after I get my medical degree.

I don't pressure anyone into telling me the truth, I just find facts. But if you are in med school, you could use that as a good background to become a medical examiner. You'll get your fill of dead bodies then, if that is what you desire.

[ Well she will pressure people because it sounds more fun that way. ]

The cadavers I get to study aren't usually murdered, but I suppose I'll take it one step at a time.

Not that I deal a lot with bodies, but not all of them are murdered. Sometimes it's a drug overdose, suicide, or an array of accidents. If it is looking at bodies you are more interested in, you'll want to be a medical examiner, not a CSI. A CSI deals more with things, not people.

Then I'll do just that. It would certainly beat working in a hospital. I don't have to work for it just because I own it.
