I came home to find this guy in my apartment. Anyone know anything about owls? It's acting like it knows me! Like, IT'S WAVING!

Eeeee, it's cute!! Did you wave back? Also are owls supposed to be awake in the daytime? I thought they were nocturnal.

It didn't wave back, it just flat out waved.
It is clearly a bird of higher intelligence. Also, I have no idea what it is awake in broad daylight when I first got it. It is not on a more nocturnal sleep schedule now.

So... you got a really smart bird with insomnia? Can it talk or do magic or something like that?

Apparently? If your wondering if it speaks the human tongue, then no. Though it can be vocal at times. It seems intelligent, but that is perhaps because I was previously not aware of how intelligent an owl can be.

Why would it do magic? Magic isn't real.

Oh, you must be pretty new on the app, huh. I know at least five people who could do magic now. In a few months I bet your owl's going to start talking.

My owl will not start talking because owls don't talk. Many people have tried and failed to convince me that magic is real. It logically doesn't make sense. There is no way magic is real.

I mean, a lot of things logically don't make sense. Have you ever tried to show this app to someone who isn't on it? I don't have any magic so I can't really speak from experience, but I've seen too much of it, and you probably will too.

Logic will never fail. Also, your so called magic, could be light refracted in a weird distorted way.

Nothing in my life has appeared to be "magic" including my new owl.

My friend lit a trashcan in the park on fire with a magic fire bird that he summons out of thin air. I have it on video.

But I'm sure it's a nice owl even if it's not magic.

A video is irrelevant when editing is possible.

I guess so. I don't really have a reason to lie to you, though? I understand now wanting to believe what's going on, but these sort of weird things are going to keep happening.

Plenty of weird things can happen without magic. Star Trek is a wonderful example of this.

Wait, so would you be okay with it if I said "my friend set a trash can on fire with some scifi laser"? Or if the owl was a super advanced robot owl or something?

Actually, yes. There are always advancement in laser technology, I'm confident someday we will have more laser based weapons. And although interesting a robot owl would be, my owl is a real owl. Why would anyone program a fake owl to poop this much?

To convince you it was a real owl, maybe? (Sorry to hear about the poop, though. That sounds like a pain.)

No scientist would put this much effort into owl crap.

I had a teacher back home who spent her entire research time collecting and dissecting owl crap. It sounds like a thing a scientist would do.

Only the ones obsessed with feces.

And do you have any proof that your owl isn't a robot built by a feces-obsessed scientist to wave at you during the daytime and convince you that magic is real? Probably not!

(But possibly you do? That seems easier to disprove.)
