[The video opens with a shot of a pair of black, shiny ballet flats. But there is a... odd quality to the shine. An almost metallic look to it.] So... I got these in the mail today. From Retrospec. I guess they belong to the girl I am having memories of? [Her hand appears in the frame as she picks up one of the shoes and turns it from side to side.] I am not sure what to think of them? The material is a little... stiff? [She taps the shoe against the table they are sitting on, which produces a soft metallic sound.] Well. They are my size. [Her phone camera bobs as she sets the shoes on the ground and slips her feet inside. A second later, the shoes come to life, WRAPPING their way up her legs until they reach mid-thigh. Though, that detail might get lost, as the moment the shoes... boots start to shift, Li-Na drops her phone and begins to scream.]

[and then a thought comes to mind, something she hadn't paid much attention to when she'd remembered the memories, but now... with the pressure and weight of these things on her legs...]

It sounds like those shoes were your weapons. It sounds really similar to mine.

[look, you have a pair of shoes wrap around your legs like an anaconda, you get a little leeway for being dramatic]

Don't know the details, but that seems like what our group did.

They do not look like weapons.

[Srsly, how do you fight monsters with footwear.]

Yeah, they are kinda weird...

Maybe they turn into greaves?

[She's starting to calm down now. Maybe this time she'll be able to take them off...]

Try focusing on willing them to deactivate. Sometimes saying it out loud helps too.

[AND THE LINE GOES DEAD B/C LI-NA HASN'T CHARGED HER PHONE YET TODAY and trying to keep this from overlapping with Chiyo too much]

[There's a pause, as he realizes he hears nothing]

- Li-Na?

[He pulls the phone from his ear, seeing that the call is ended. Calling again? Just gets her voicemail]

Fuck.

[invocate]

[some twenty minutes later... after Li-Na gets the boots to deactivate and plugs her phone in, she sees that's Noah tried to call... and calls him back]

Sorry. My phone closed.

[redarm]

[He'll pick up immediately and that sounds very much like a sigh of relief. Since yeah, he was worried]

You alright?

[invocate]

Yes. I am okay now.

[her voice is noticeably calmer now]

I deactivated the shoes.

[redarm]

[BREATHES]

Thank god.

I mean, nice going!

[invocate]

I put them in the box and I put the box in the closet.

[Way, way, in the back of the closet, at the very, very top. Where hopefully no one will find them.]

Until I know more, I am not putting them on again.
