Hello everyone!
I know that this month has been making everyone pretty anxious with everything that's going on.
This is really the first time I'm experiencing the brunt of all of this, so it's been a... let's say, learning experience!
I've been trying to think of a way to get my mind off of all of this, so can I ask a favor of you?

alright, so a long time ago, back in china,
this guy named wang is making his way downtown, walking fast, when a face passed by that he never saw before.

it was this young girl, and she was carrying a lot of stuff with her. he asks her what's up and she says that her parents wanted money more than her so they sold her to a rich family. they treated her badly and so she ran away. so this guy wang tells her that she can stay with him. he takes her back to his place and has her live in his family's library. she tells him that he can't tell anybody that she's there.

after a few days, wang tells his wife about her and his wife tells him that he should send her on her way since what if that rich family wants her back? but wang is like nah man, it's fine!

That poor girl!

And then what happened?

right, so then one day, wang is making his way back downtown, walking fast, when a face passed by that belonged to a priest.
and the priest called out to him "what did you meet?"

wang was confused and said that he hasn't met anything. the priest says that wang is bewitched, so he must have met something and then he called wang a fool and walked off. wang thought about the girl, but thought that nah, that girl's not some sort of witch

he gets back home and tries to visit the girl, but he can't get into the library.
the door was locked. so wang thought something was up and so he went around outside and climbed up a wall to look into the window. when he looked inside,
wang saw...

a demon! it was a horible demon, with green skin and sharp teeth. and the demon had some human skin spread out on the ground and was painting it. after a moment,
the demon threw their paintbrush to the side and then put the skin on around them and suddenly--

the demon became the girl!

That must have been very embarrassing for the demon. I'm sure she didn't want anyone to see her exposed like that...
This is why you should knock before you look into a room someone is staying in!

right?? i mean it's only polite!

but anyway, wang ran away and went back into town and found the priest. wang told the priest about what he saw. the priest gave wang a brush and told him to hang it on his bedroom door and then see him the next day.

that night, wang heard something outside their door. he was too scared to look and he made his wife look. she saw the girl standing at their door, staring at the brush hanging there, scared. she left and after a while she came back, angry.

she destroyed the brush and then went into the room! wang's wife screamed as the demon girl tore open wang's chest and ripped out his heart!

!!!!!
How horrible! What happened next? How did the wife react? Why was she mad about the brush?

idk i think the brush is like some ancient chinese superstition? i never asked about it.

but anyway, the servants came when they heard the wife scream,but it was too late, wang was already dead. the next morning, she and wang's brother went to go see the priest. the priest came to the home and went "well, that demon is gone,
but she's not far. she's just at his house." pointing at wang's brother

wang's bro was scared and ran to his home, because he hadn't been home all day.
he went home and found out something...

his wife hired a new maid that day.

Oh no!
Poor Wang's brother. What an unlucky family.

honestly, everytime i heard this story as a kid i fell asleep around this part

Hmm, when you're a child you usually just want to skip ahead to the good part, so the longer tales do tend to get boring.
