Though according to that last announcement, this is my soul taking on its true form.

I don't know about souls, that's very vague terminology.

And do you buy into the notion of possessing a soul? It is, I agree, all very vague.

And I'm sure you didn't miss mention of our souls being plucked and collected, to be saved from our supposed destroyed worlds, as well.

The concept that we are refugees from other worlds seems plausible based on our variety of changes and memories.

As for the rest: souls, unreality, etc, those terms have yet to be defined to my satisfaction, thus I can't commit fully to my position on them.

You've never shared much about this other world that you apparently come from, by the way. Are people who possess cat ears and tails normal?

[Not that they've shared much... about their respective memories in general. They don't have that kind of repartee.]

I don't know a great deal. I know there are humans, and then there's whatever I am; it's not a cat.

We eat them. We have a king. He tried to kill me once.

You /ate/ them?

Yes. We eat humans. Ones with special powers are particularly delicious.

And this little notion doesn't bother you... oh, I don't know, even in the slightest?

It's not like I'm a zombie. I can choose to eat something else.

But did you ever eat a human in this other life of yours?

I would assume so, although I don't have any specific memory of doing so.

Tell me about this king and why he tried to kill you.

He came after me in the fog. He was hungry.

In my memory, I was trying to tell him how one identified humans with special powers. He hit me with his stinger for being impudent.

He meant to kill me, but I was too strong. So he forgave me.

This king of yours doesn't sound particularly benevolent.

I don't think that was one of his traits, no. But that's all I remember about him. He was king and I served him. We all did.

I would say you have my concern, but I have a feeling you don't want it, anyway.
