It's that desire for freedom. You don't suffer fools, and that's half the job of a politician.

You've also got a lot more trust over your own morality. You can trust in your interpretation of the law to make the judgement calls you need to. Some of that comes from your experience, but I'm betting some of it is the confidence to make a call that's not just based on precedent.

Start small. Before you can truly overcome difficulties, you have to understand that even in the deepest darkness, there's always a tiny light you can follow. But... mm, losing is always hard. Sometimes it takes a little while to find anything to salvage. But it's there, if you can look hard enough.

It's never too late to make a change, you know. If you really, truly want to improve, sometimes will alone is enough to get you started.

Reinventing the wheel is everything in this business, though. If Twitter hadn't reinvented status updates, it wouldn't have caught on.

But... yes, it's possible. A small-scale rollout would make some sense, though it's still rather small. It'd be more of a feature test than stress testing at that scale. Um. Sorry, I'm kind of being a nerd over here. It just doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
