Welcome to Retrospec™, the last social media network you will ever need. You are one of the few selected to test this exciting new platform based on our cutting-edge algorithms. Less than two hundred invitations have gone out, and membership is not currently open to the public. However, we hope you will come to see how useful Retrospec™ is, given time. We have for your use a variety of features such as text, voice, video, and image posts. We encourage you to explore our many options.

Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. As a reminder, everything besides uploading a profile picture and information was locked until this post. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently. Oddly, profile pictures still cannot be swapped out at this time, so hopefully you took a good one.

This post is an overflow from the original post here. Feel free to either carry over threads from there or create entirely new ones.

And I suppose it is your excess of vanity that prevents you from being overly upset that my beasts veritably bowled you over? A strange sense of narcissism you must have, to make light of such a terrible affront.

[ It's true; despite her unease, she doesn't peg Ardyn as a particularly vain man. If anything, he's the opposite... Or at the very least, he appears to be. ]

It is with no small amount of sheepishness that I admit to deferring medical school in order to focus on volunteering, yes. Many have called me foolish for doing so, and perhaps I am. But I find that my bleeding heart can scarcely ignore the suffering that happens upon my very doorstep.

What can I say? I'm an oddity. Full of both forgiveness and vanity, and when the two mix, it leaves a lasting, if not confusing impression.

People are too quick to confuse a bleeding heart with naïveté and foolishness. But it hardly matters. They may not realize it like I do, Miss Fleuret, but you're actually very stubborn. You'll not be dissuaded by mere words, will you?

And I am certain that that lasting, confusing impression lingers for years after those with the good fortune to cross your path. Still, I am appreciative of your forgiveness and seemingly infinite understanding. I only hope that our next encounter will be more pleasant.

... It does not surprise me that you are adept at reading people.
[ Though Ardyn himself is nigh unreadable; it's part of the reason why he makes her so uneasy. ] Stubbornness is indeed a very pronounced character flaw of mine. What do you make of a bleeding heart, Professor, if not with naïveté?

[Ardyn is, if nothing more, very observant. In another lifetime, perhaps, such a merit worked too well to his advantage.]

A sensitive soul who cares about the well-being of others around them. Perhaps, sometimes, caring too much; but it's a far better flaw to have than someone who cares not at all. Apathy is a dangerous thing, you know. You're a warrior against it.
