Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. As a reminder, everything besides uploading a profile picture and information was locked until this post. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently. Oddly, profile pictures still cannot be swapped out at this time, so hopefully you took a good one.

Not even close to the same sort of professions. Unless they're building the largest ambulance-chasing firm they can think of.

This city is huge, though. Less than two hundred invitations and the city's population is what, in the tens if not hundreds of thousands? Without some kind of sign-up list, it's almost like they picked names out of a hat.

Not that much of my information is public, though I guess the clinic I work at is. It'd probably be easier to google you. Still, none of the rest of my family received the invitation.

[He can't say whether or not any of his own family received an invitation, nor is he inclined to find out anytime soon. As a consequence, he doesn't have anything useful to add regarding that part.

As for the rest, though-]

If it were as random as names from a hat, I think the entire thing would be less cloak-and-dagger than it is. Did you know that some people don't even see this app? Quite literally. I'll hand them my phone, and they look at me like I've gone mad.

That I wasn't sure of. I did call to ask the office if it had installed on any of the computers there, but they said it hadn't.

Come to think of it, they didn't sound like they'd heard of it, either.

If I didn't think it was sort of mad anyway, I might not believe you. [But it's almost just crazy enough to be true.]

How does one hide an app from other people, anyway? Especially if it's open right there on the screen? Or did you just try to show them the icon? [That's some programming shit she isn't aware of.]

The icon and the open program. But they merely looked at me like I was a madman, going on about something that wasn't there. If I were a more sensitive soul, I'd have felt utterly humiliated.

Well, now you've given me an experiment to perform.

Even though I'm not much of a scientist, I think this could be interesting to figure out, if nothing else.

Be sure to tell me if your results are any different than mine. I'm already dying to know.

Well if you hold your breath, you might actually die. It'll take some time.

We've probably got time before they show their hand, anyway, and we may very well be tied until then.
