Nothing too serious! I was thinking we either see that new movie marathon that's being held over at the Flix ooor you can join me during an astronomy event that's happening in March. Whichever you think will be more fun to do.

I just want to bore you to death in something that might not click with you is all. I've learned by now that looking up coordinates and taking photos of star formations and constellations won't be everyone's cup of tea.

I have a friend who's really into that sort of thing so I guess this might help me out with her?

That phrase is so creepy who even started that.

I'm not sure to be honest. I read somewhere its origins came from a poem from the 1900s but you can't trust everything on top ten lists.

But hey! It's a handy saying to pull out when you're trying to be serious about a promise you made. Usually.

Unless someone has a severe phobia of needles, in which case they may become less likely to trust you.
If they're the type to take things literally anyway.

I suppose it's the fear of needles for the literal individuals and the threat of being seen untrustworthy by others that drives others to take it seriously.

Not everyone of course. I just find the saying cute!

And in some cases it might be a combination of both of them.
