Well Fafnir is a great story about the dangers of greed. There's also Die Siebenkopfige Schlange, the Seven-Headed Serpent who demands a sacrifice of twelve young men and twelve maidens every year or it will destroy the country. Eventually a man bests it by silencing its warning bells with cotton and cutting off each of its heads while it slept.

I was just mentioning to Ragna about the hydra from Hircules, this one sounds kind of like that

except a lot nastier, if it was demanding that many sacrifices...why does it always have to be sacrifices

And I loved how different Tokyo was to anything I've ever known. The city is so huge and so compact, it's like it goes on forever in every direction. It was honestly pretty overwhelming.

Not to mention there's incredible architecture and art. I wish I could have gone to the countryside too, but I never had the opportunity.

yeah I think the countryside is seriously underrated by most people who visit Japan...people go out of their way to visit Fujisan, of course, but there's so much more than that!
