okay quick poll:
what's your favorite kind of dragon?
western dragons (the huge, stocky ones) or eastern dragons (the sleek, snake-like ones)?
other dragon types or "I don't even like dragons" are also acceptable answers!
btw if anyone is stopping by the ReVA building today please bring advil for me

It's not even a contest.
[ Kazuma Kiryu is unbiased and does not in any way have an Eastern dragon tattooed to his back. Nope. ]

no contest huh? I'll definitely pass on your thoughts word for word
for me, one of the big appeals for eastern dragons is just how steeped in Japanese culture they are, it's hard to say the same for western dragons in American culture

Yeah. Western dragons are a lot more important and influential.
Western dragons kind of just "look cool" and blow fire.
Eastern dragons have all sorts of myths and impart wisdom on people.
They're symbols of strength.
no subject
haha that's exactly what another person said before you
and I agree! There's a lot of important symbolism that eastern dragons carry with them
just to play devil's advocate though, I also appreciate how the symbolism of western dragons can be flexible to fit new stories

That's true, though. Western dragons are more like monsters, where Eastern ones are more like gods or spirits.
That probably has something to do with it.

yeah! The stories are so fascinating though, especially since dragons and deities have recently become more important to the other Minako's memories, so I'm trying to dig for more info
it's kind of amazing how many variations of the stories there are...

It makes sense that there'd be a lot of them, since they come from China and later got introduced into Japan. Both countries have long, long histories.
What kind of gods and stuff have you remembered?
no subject
a Hindu war god
and most recently, an archangel

The old you had a lot of bases covered, huh?

she was pretty intense
and it only seems like I keep finding more connections so I gotta hit the books asap!!
no subject
That's pretty cool.
Was the old you some kind of scholar?
no subject
she was a summoner

they feel more like aspects of gods? Or...maybe parts of herself that manifested as gods
it's kind of complicated
no subject
So there was magic and that kind of thing in your world?
no subject
what about your world, did it have magic?
no subject
I don't think there was... but sometimes knives would catch fire and I got back super strength, so it probably wasn't normal, either.
no subject
I'd count spontaneous fire knives and super strength would definitely count as some kind of magic...
no subject
Nobody talked about it, as far as I can tell.
Plus it's not like, literal fire.
At least I don't think so, I don't remember ever burning myself.
Just sometimes when I fight, things get intense and my aura reflects that?
no subject
that's super hardcore
someone else mentioned you talked down a dragon too??
you're amazing
no subject
It was a baby dragon, anyway.
And all I really did was buy it a lot of Big Macs.
no subject
was it really cute???
no subject
I think we woke it up from a nap because it went back to sleep right after.
But it was really cute.
[ He loves all dragons. ]

Oh, and she took my old phone because it was shiny.
But after that it closed the door and we never saw it again.
