[The video open to Derek with a serious face. When he starts speaking, it comes out in a English accent. (ooc. The clip is mildly spoilery for Season 3 of The Flash).] So... it's been two days and I think I've calmed down a bit. I've spoken to a couple of people about it, but I'd like to know if anyone else has had to deal with this. I know on this app people have acquired entire languages, such as Japanese and Russian, however, I have yet to come across someone who has received an entire accent. I am originally from England, but once I moved to America I completely lost it and I've been speaking with an American accent since... until now I guess. [Derek pauses for a second before speaking again.] Bloody hell, please tell me I'm not the only one who has had to deal with this? [Derek attempts to speak in an American accent but comes out horribly with a really bad southern flair to it.] I can't even do a proper American Accent anymore! [Derek reverts back to his English accent.] I sound like a complete tosser!

[Well, you are getting a text response, Derek, if for no better reason than if it's distressing you that much at least it's giving you a convenient excuse to not have to actually talk at him. Don't say he never did anything for you.]

Well... There are far worse things, and besides, I'm fairly sure a good amount of people find that sort of thing attractive, anyway.

I don't need to be more attractive, I'm already in a long term relationship. And true, there could be worse things, but now I'm sounding like the "other me."

Well, nothing nice has come out of his mouth when I've heard him speak, but then again, he's like between the ages of twelve and fourteen.

Is it really that horrible, to have such an accent? You said you were originally from England anyway -- was your accent the same then?

What else could it be. But really, why can't I jut switch between the two like anyone else who gets a language?

It's more shocking than anything. You wake up and the voice coming out of you isn't yours. I'm not sure if I sounded exactly the same when I was a kid, but I guess so?

You can add Thai to the list of full language regains, but otherwise, no, I haven't gotten an entire accent switch. That's got to be embarrassing to explain if you need to call someone on the phone too.

Yeah, I was talking to my mom yesterday and I had to come up with some lame excuse as to why I sound like an older version of a four year old me. It was a bit frustrating because I was only there to pick up a few things and head back out.

At least the NPCs tend to act like it's normal after a couple weeks? I wonder if it's tied with that previous announcement about how our souls are all shifting to what we were before.

I was content with my old voice. Now the NPC's are giving me strange looks. My roommate was laughing at me and my girlfriend was teasing me. It's kind of a blow to my ego.

I'm sorry. I have heard of people waking up with a new accent before! Um, I think it happens after someone has a stroke, though...not because of a phone app.

[Derek saw that Orihime switched to text. He felt bad that he pretty much forced her to do text. He made the bloody video, why couldn't he video response back? He was such a coward about the stupidest things.]

Yeah, this was definitely not a stroke. It's so weird. I speak, and it doesn't sound like me. It sounds like an older version of the 'other me.' Like, is this what he sounds like as an adult? I've only seen him as a young teenager between the ages of 12 and 14, I think. And he's not the nicest kid either.

Wasn't trying to. Why would you want your American accent back anyway? You are now officially more attractive than every single one of your friends.

I wish it was that easy to get it back. I've been trying for days to speak with an American accent and I've failed every time. And it's not like I don't know how to do accents. I was in high school theatre for two years, so I know a thing or two about accents.
