this clearly has nothing to do with tablegate 2k17

hello, everyone! :)
as many of us are aware, the senior class at recolle high school will be graduating soon, and well....
i am part of that class!
i guess because of this fact, i have been thinking that it is maybe time for me to be a bit more independent than i have been, and find a job
this is pretty easy in theory but i find that there is a problem that is maybe not much of a problem to some people but it has been giving me something to think about lol
namely, i do not know what to expect and how difficult getting my first job will be :o
if you have advice, i would definitely like to hear it!!!!
on the other hand, i would like to know what your first job was like, as a blanket sort of thing

ummm, so i guess to make this more concise, i have a few questions!
what was your first job?
what was getting it like?
would you recommend it to someone looking for a first job?

thank you all in advance <3

do you have an idea of where you want to work? or alternately, what sort of jobs you don't think you could ever do?

space, huh? i don't know much off the top of my head about what jobs would call for that, but who knows - one of the professors at the university might want a TA. though that's not paying it'd still give you credit and allow you to work closer to what you like.

and to answer your questions about my first job, it was in a bookstore that was asking for help over the summer. getting it wasn't too hard, although i wouldn't call it simple. the owner was the more taciturn sort who strictly forbade food and drinks without a top, and the interview was a bit critical. but would i recommend it? one hundred percent. it was nice to get to work with people and be around literature.

questions about my current schooling - he wanted to know my schedule so we could discuss availability, asked if i'd ever helped out in a bookstore before, how would i rate myself when working with other people. how much would i say i knew about books, and could i handle following the rules like the one about food, that it wasn't an excuse to socialize and neglect customers if my friends came in.

really i think he was trying to see if i'd be scared off, i imagine, but i wasn't. and the bookstores around here i've seen have much more relaxed people working in them.

true, and i'll also tell you i think he was tired of hiring temporary help and having people not take it seriously because it wasn't full time. that'd make anyone into a grouch.

but another thing you'll hear often is to practice your interview if you're nervous - get someone you trust to pretend to be your employer and have them ask you questions so you feel confident going in.

most certainly. all you have to do is pick a day you want to practice, and you know you're welcome over at any time if i'm not at work.

[be it related to the job practice or not. you know where your getaway car is, Jade.]

that works for me! do you think you'll be coming by before or after dinner?

[just to know whether to cook for one or two that night.]

that depends on if you want someone to also cook dinner for you then.
