this clearly has nothing to do with tablegate 2k17

hello, everyone! :)
as many of us are aware, the senior class at recolle high school will be graduating soon, and well....
i am part of that class!
i guess because of this fact, i have been thinking that it is maybe time for me to be a bit more independent than i have been, and find a job
this is pretty easy in theory but i find that there is a problem that is maybe not much of a problem to some people but it has been giving me something to think about lol
namely, i do not know what to expect and how difficult getting my first job will be :o
if you have advice, i would definitely like to hear it!!!!
on the other hand, i would like to know what your first job was like, as a blanket sort of thing

ummm, so i guess to make this more concise, i have a few questions!
what was your first job?
what was getting it like?
would you recommend it to someone looking for a first job?

thank you all in advance <3

Independence is overrated.
It's a ton of hard work, and none of it is really any fun.
But if you're looking for a good job
It's really about who you know.

[Worse. A trust fund snob.]

You'd think that skill was important
But it isn't really
As dumb as that sounds.
Especially at your age
Like, how do you set yourself apart from the other kids?
Not easy.

Apples and oranges.
Your friends are going to care about what makes you a special snowflake
Unless your skills are readily apparent, a business isn't going to give you the time of day.
heiroglyphs: (let me ponder how much you suck)

[personal profile] heiroglyphs 2017-02-19 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
Right so
How are you going to show them that?
heiroglyphs: (you make me sick)

But you have no experience?
That's the point of a resume.
Ugh, we're talking in circles at this point.
heiroglyphs: (whaaa?)

Right well
There are a lot of optimists in this city apparently
Just... know that you're in for a challenge, alright?
What kind of job are you even looking for?
heiroglyphs: (that cant be right)

That's
Commendable

At least you seem like you're good with people?
Something in the service industry might fit.

Wait til you get to college.
Just because I'm rich doesn't mean I like being taken advantage of.

Wish I could help you, but my family doesn't own any bookstores.
Physical media is a rough market right now.
heiroglyphs: (did you have a point in all that?)

I thought you just said you were about to graduate high school.
I guess that counts?

But if you like something, go apply.
If they like you, they might take you on
Like I said, who you know is super important.
