Next time you're organising anything for "charity" or "fun," how about you not take people's "suggestions" adding in participants who never volunteered? I was strictly told that you are a "dear friend" to two individuals who care about you a lot and that you're "very sweet". I was also told that you might have a fun time on the date so based on this, I assumed that you were an individual who would be everything your friends told me. So, before you accuse me of "screwing around with people who actually matter" to me, know that I actually thought I was acting in her best interest because of the kind things that were said about you.

I appreciate that you're telling me to fuck off instead of Iris because I can see that this is clearly a mistake on my behalf, but I don't appreciate being told that I apparently don't care about her when I was acting on information that your friends have given me about you. If I've known otherwise, then I wouldn't have set you up with her.

( Sweet: to his friends. Of which he has two, recently upped to three, and Yuri is more than self aware enough to know he is rightfully considered standoffish and prickly by most. He doesn't mind. He is like that. It keeps him focused, and it keeps him from getting too entangled with others outside of professional contexts.

That's largely irrelevant here. Welcome to teenage emotions and inabilities to sound polite in communicating what he thinks or feels; and knowing as little about Souji as Souji had known about him. Yuri hadn't appreciated the surprise, and he'd felt like shit realising he was needing to make sure he didn't make someone else have a shitty time just because it was something he hadn't wanted to deal with. A position his well meaning friends had put him in without asking; a position Souji had unwittingly helped keep him in, and one he'd followed through on because as much as he has complicated feelings about accidentally stringing people along, he would feel even worse for abandoning someone for his own issues. Even on a date he doesn't want.

He doesn't want to make people feel unwanted without reason. It just felt too close to accidentally toying with someone's feelings that his hackles were up: and Souji, fairly or not, is the recipient of what he's already told Dave and Anya. )

Anya doesn't have a negative opinion to express about anyone. Everyone's faults are forgiven in her eyes. The worst I've heard her say about anyone in recent memory was forgiving them as probably having a bad day. Dave rolls with most anything. He's one of the most laid back people I know, as long as you're not tangling with his family.

If you'd taken three minutes to reach out and form opinions about me by actually talking to me, instead of talking to two of the most optimistic and rose-coloured glasses people I know, you'd have been making a better decision. But you didn't.

So whatever. Disregard what you want, or add to it by learning on your own. Family should have been important enough to make that effort instead of relying on anyone else's say-so.

how did you get signed up for those dates in the first place? was it anya or dave? i wound up signed up for it somehow too, and i know for a fact nobody signed me up. there were a few of us it happened to--the network glitched out and added a bunch of us to the list. how was souji supposed to know something like that happened? how was he supposed to know that they hadn't asked you? from what i remember there were too many people to expect him to REAFFIRM with everybody they'd signed up on purpose. you should've told him when he told you who your date was, not suffered through it to be pissed off about it later. that was YOUR choice, if you'd actually spoken up he could've worked something out. you don't get to pretend everything's fine and then a month down the road get pissed about it because he didn't read your mind

and finally you can shut up about iris. obviously you didn't learn a damn thing about her if you didn't realize how much souji cares about her and how hard he tried to pick out someone good for her. I didn't see any need to mention my relation with Iris when sending out invitations, but if it's really a matter of concern for you, I told your friends that we were cousins, after they asked me to message them about your date (which only reaffirmed my assumptions that you were a willing participant in the event), thinking that they'd relay that information to you.

But rather than dragging on this conversation and attracting other individuals to it, let's leave it here. I'll admit my own faults in this and I'll apologise for it, but you need to speak to your friends clearly about what you want and don't want. This happened because your friends signed you up and made it seem like you were in agreement with the event. I could have contacted you further about it, yes, but you can't assume that any organiser in the future will be able to know what you want or will be able to contact you specifically about it.
