Welcome to Retrospec™, the last social media network you will ever need. You are one of the few selected to test this exciting new platform based on our cutting-edge algorithms. Less than two hundred invitations have gone out, and membership is not currently open to the public. However, we hope you will come to see how useful Retrospec™ is, given time. We have for your use a variety of features such as text, voice, video, and image posts. We encourage you to explore our many options. Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. As a reminder, everything besides uploading a profile picture and information was locked until this post. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently. Oddly, profile pictures still cannot be swapped out at this time, so hopefully you took a good one.

I can't really use this for business if the test group is that small, so I suppose I'll have to figure out something else to do on a new social network. Hmm... I'd talk about what I'm doing, but I don't even know if all the testers are in my city or if the invitations were sent to a wider group.

Well, whatever. If the test group is so small, it's not like there's a risk of anything spreading out of control to others. Not that I know what to talk about... I'm not filming right now, the preparations for Founder's Day are more or less done but we're not presently doing anything, school isn't particularly exciting... I almost wish something interesting would happen.

What do you even do on a social network you don't know if you have friends on?

Indeed there are. I'm not going to complain - it gives me more of an excuse to use the app, which is probably what they're hoping for. I'm not sure how much I'd play with the features without someone to see the results.

Sometimes things like this need to stress test before they can open their service up to a wider audience - make sure their servers can handle everyone using them at once. Although less than two hundred people is admittedly a small test group for that, too.

Still, meeting new people is nice enough. I can only imagine all of the other souls on this network that I have yet to met.

Not so often that I can't enjoy it on occasion. I'm surprised at the variety of people here, but at least there are people I know. I'm up to two, now!

I do try. Filming isn't a perfect thing, and acting isn't a perfect business in general. It's important to be able to look beyond failures and pull something good out of whatever comes.

That's a sensible enough response, I suppose. Unorthodox - don't you normally make friends elsewhere and THEN add them on social media? - but sensible enough.

Introductions are kind of weird when we already know each other's names, though. It takes some of the fun out.

just think of Retrospec like a forum that we can meet new people at, who we can then add to our other, legitimate forms of social media if we want to 〈(゜。゜) yeah that part's a bit of a bummer, but I'll introduce myself anyways for the heck of it. Well, I say that - I mean for promoting things. With such a closed network, I can't advertise things like I can on, say, Twitter. An upcoming release, for example. That's the case where I WANT those things to be spread, but I can't build velocity with so few people.

For actual personal things, absolutely. But this is kind of a special case.

Although I'm not certain I have the time or desire to pick up games - if I'm going to use a social network, it's going to be for the social aspects.

Honestly, I prefer social networks where I don't really know anyone to ones that have everyone I know. It's just a little weird to have your friends and your boss reading the same posts.

Doesn't everything lose context, then? It's all well and good to talk about those things, but there has to be some connection for any of those posts and actions to MEAN anything.
