a timely warning
given the time of year and the recent influx of now wild turkeys, i think we should all take a moment to remember what the real menace of society is

Nevermind.
[Another laugh.]
I do my youth outreach stuff at the volunteer association, not the library.
[Taps his pencil against his chin.]
I'm just studying for exams, right now. It's going about as well as it looks.
[But he leans in a bit, more curious about the bag than Marina herself.]
How much do I owe you?
no subject
[She props her elbow on the table and leans her cheek against her hand, staring over at him.]
Ah yeah, I guess you can't bullshit your way through college, huh? I could be studying for stuff, buuutt...
[Nah]
Straight to the point, are we? [:'(] As a special key-verse buddy discount, you get three lovely hand crafted and painted charms for the low low price of 30 dollars. I'm practically giving them away to you.
[She straightens back up to retrieve them from her bag, holding them up with the strings looped around her fingers.
The wayfinder is as close as an imitation as she could get, though the glass, due to her one part not being able to do anything with glass and two part having no way of knowing it was glass from Terra's beautiful drawing, is a red gradient, carefully painted. He seemed kind of like a red kind of guy to her.]
Since you weren't very specific what you meant by "friend charms", I kind of used my own imagination for what a matching set of charms for two very close friends would be like, judging from my impression of you and what I've glimpsed from Aria by staring real hard at her picture. I figured if I came here with two heart halves with BFFs written on it you'd be giving me a real disappointed stare by now.
[They're smaller than the wayfinder, imitating the same shape of the shell, but an entire star rather than laced together in pieces. One is painted carefully to be like an ocean with the waves breaking, and on the inside is a small heart, popped out as an additional piece, in a red. The other is painted like a sunset scene, reds and oranges and yellows, with a heart in the middle with a blue that matched the other. Hopefully he'd like it??]

It's...pretty cool. [He stares into it for a long moment. It does look a lot like Aria's...He wishes he could ask her a little more about it but...she's been hard to get ahold of lately, hasn't she? Well, there'll be time later...He slowly looks back up to Marina.]
...Pretty girly. Can't say it's not pretty much perfect, though. Thanks, Marina.
[But the charms get a more curious look from him.]
...The hearts make it a little romantic, don't you think?

I should say though...I never specified that the star charm and the friendship charms were for the same person, you know.

Like Aria's. [He'll just. Unsubtly snag the other charms from her fingers, looking at them closely.]
But I was planning on giving one of these to another girl...
[& smiles a bit sheepishly.]
Doesn't make it any less perfect looking though, so no sweat.
no subject
Well, I hope she likes blue. Or Red. But you seem more like a red.
no subject
Don't sweat it. We're very blue and red either way, so it's all good.
Gimme a sec.
[Shuffle shuffle. Eventually, a fifty and ten dollar bill find their way in front of Marina.]
Buy yourself something nice, yeah?
no subject
[That's a lot of money.]
Damn, thanks dude. Come back any time.
no subject
Don't undersell yourself, Marina.
If I need some cute handmade shit, I'll let you know.
[ . . . ]
You're not as tall as you said you'd be.
no subject
[She shoots him a thumbs up.]
...What I lack for in inches I make up for in spirit and loud personality.
no subject
I just want to be friends with someone I don't have to bend my knees to look at, that's all.
You are pretty loud, though. Especially for a princess.
[Nods solemnly.]
You should probably start working on your classiness.
no subject
[She stuffs the money in her bag and crosses her arms over her chest, trying to look indignant.]
A princess can be whatever she wants to be. So says I, the only princess between the two of us, and thus the authority on princesses.
no subject
I've met princesses though. Just because you are one, doesn't mean you know anything about them.
I'm the authority on princesses, Marina. It's me.
no subject
You dare challenge my authority on the basis that you met some princesses a few times and like, escorted her to a ball or whatever?
no subject
That's exactly what I'm saying.
Have you ever been to a ball?
no subject
no subject
That's not very graceful. [TSK TSK]
no subject
When's the first lesson, professor?
no subject
Oh, it already started. [He folds up a piece of paper into one of those little paper football things that annoying kids in high school used to make. He launches it into her nose.]
So make with the gracefulness, your highness.
no subject
[She's gonna launch it back at him with amusement tinged with revenge.]
Or maybe I should make an elegant speech about how our budding friendship won't be ruined by a single game of finger football?
no subject
Ow.
I deserved that. [Rubbing his eye, he smiles and laughs sheepishly in defeat.]
You're asking a lot of questions. Princesses are supposed to be leaders. Grace is all about confidence, yeah?
[Another laugh under his breath as he shakes his head.]
Still so much to learn...
no subject
I don't really think anyone's interested in me leading them, though. Not much to lead when other people are probably stronger and more equipped than a 17 year old, yeah? So I'm off the hook and can just enjoy my princess title in relative, sometimes monster filled peace.
[She suddenly blinks rapidly a few times, slowly tilting her head to the side and looking confused. Marina looks up at Terra and squints, thoughtful.]
I think I just remembered Sora?
no subject
[. . . . .]
Why is it always me that gives you these things?
So––you two knew each other?
