Those were just examples, but I can sort of see what you mean. It just seems to make more sense to avoid the trouble of sending people home with stuff they might not want or eat if you just make smaller dishes or cook not so big birds. I mean, why is it that turkeys are traditionally eaten during this holiday, anyway? Because they're big and serve a lot of people? You could probably do a better job with roasted pork-- it's still big, but slow cooking usually doesn't turn it into a dry, gross disaster.
... but you're right, that does sound kind of unappetizing. [But he's going to take a quick google search of it anyway, to see what the possible appeal is.] It... kind of reminds me of some sticky rice dishes, though? Except with bread, of course.
