It doesn't have to make sense or be useful - it just has to be a suggestion, at which point the application will return to normal.

I mean it was obvious there's a connection but I really liked pretending that there wasn't because it makes all of my jokes comparing it to a bad movie feel less like jokes.

probably no one will stop you if you want to keep doing it really
since forcing information down peoples throats is like the job of like newscasters
and even then they cant make anyone turn on the tv so its not even really their job
hell i guess teachers come closest to that being a job description
but even they have it tough since if a kid zones out or goes nah dont care
what the fuck are they supposed to do exactly

Anyway I'm pretty sure that if you avoid technology for too long that it'll probably just turn itself on or something?
Not like I actually tested that out but it's already been doing enough creepy, invasive shit that I wouldn't be surprised if the app just forces itself on if you ignore it long enough.
It fits the trope at least.
