Hello and happy new year! A lot of poll results came in from R&D and we've almost fixed taste all the way. Horses are almost fixed, too. We've been working pretty much non-stop around the holidays to stabilize everything, so I hope this works! Just so you guys know, while we were working on fixing the original problems we received some alerts of residual effects outside of our usual domain. Don't worry though! Remember what I said a while ago? We're still moving more resources around into better defenses to protect the city from huge storms like last summer. We'll be taking care of that really soon and isolating the unknown problem. I wish I could tell you more, but we're all working overtime here to finish the final stages of a big project. No matter what happens you guys should be safe while we finish up, so just stay calm, okay? Don't get too reckless! Storms? Is this referring to actual weather or is this a metaphor for the city being attacked. I'm still a new as far as Retrospec goes and I'd be interested to hear theories from more experienced users, as I realize that these don't tend to get responses from moderators or tech support.

As well, does anyone have an idea of what this "big project" is?

because i lost the ability to make bombs at the end of our final mission
which was literally a large gaping mouth on the ocean

and that was how we spent our summer this year

There's a lot to unwrap, there. First, can you elaborate on what you mean "the ability to make bombs"?

it's simple
well not really but
i could pretty much turn any metal into bombs
the bigger the better

but like i said i lost the ability after the "final mission"
that and it's too dangerous to use underground

So you were equipped for a specific mission?Interesting. I've heard of people gaining abilities after using the app for a while, but no one has mentioned losing them after using them.

What do you mean about a literal large gaping mouth. Some sort of monster?

It started around the time of the comic convention. Retrospec users were split into two groups: one was transported to the "unreality" while the other was given various tasks to solve problems in the city. The users in the unreality had to survive not only in another dimension (presumably), but also were given clues to the potential history of and why Retrospec was created. it's my theory that where they were might have been some sort of conglomeration of the former worlds,
but it's based on my own thoughts more than anything else.

The group that stayed in the city had to defend it from fantasy-style monsters as well as rescue Retrospec employees from some suspicious circumstances. (Such as answering puzzles despite the employee supposedly being trapped by accident.) There is at least one account of someone turning into a llama.

The monsters were taken care of and the city repaired, though those of us who were not users at the time were unaware of the mass destruction. I couldn't recall anything particularly notable that month until researching all of this, for example.

yeah nobody mentioned a comic convention to me personally so that is actually new.
the rest of that matches up.
some of the places people in unreality went to are a doctor's office, a science lab, space, a jungle, a castle, a swamp, a haunted house, and a pirate ship. (for your notes, if you want them.)
also someone told me about a retrospec employee being locked in a box which i still think is weird.
my best friend turned into a cat, and someone else turned into a fox.
oh! have you seen this yet? (that is a link btw.)
but anyway that is about it, so nice research.
i remembered stuff for about a day though! i kicked some monsters in the face but then after that day i forgot until i got the app again. so yeah. nothing was really notable around then.

I've been going through old posts but not all of them. I'll bookmark that one as more important.

It does raise the question how much, if anything, was happening before the app was created that no one was privy to.

that is the one thing that i wonder myself. things could have been happening right under our noses and we wouldn't have even been aware of it.

Yes, if we're operating under the assumption that all are coexisting, then your'e right,
it would be a parallel reality. It would be difficult to tap into every possible alternative to each of our actions in this reality,
so I wonder whether it coincides with that prevailing multiverse theory or if it's something entirely different.

That's too bad. Normally that would be public record, but it's impossible to find anything on this company outside of speaking to people who use the app.

No, it's frustrating. Everything we learn about the company's a result of these actions which I'm pretty sure are illegal, mad stunts where people nearly get killed, or getting mixed up in something more terrible.

Dementors. Scary ass hooded figures that can suck out your soul. Only one thing can deflect them (because I don't think they die) is something called a patronus, and no, I have no idea what that is. Oh, and they freeze things over when they get near you and they suck the happiness out of you too.

Ok, admittedly kendo probably won't work on a Dementor, but there are sure to be other things a gun won't work on in the future and it is good to be prepared.
