Hello and happy new year! A lot of poll results came in from R&D and we've almost fixed taste all the way. Horses are almost fixed, too. We've been working pretty much non-stop around the holidays to stabilize everything, so I hope this works! Just so you guys know, while we were working on fixing the original problems we received some alerts of residual effects outside of our usual domain. Don't worry though! Remember what I said a while ago? We're still moving more resources around into better defenses to protect the city from huge storms like last summer. We'll be taking care of that really soon and isolating the unknown problem. I wish I could tell you more, but we're all working overtime here to finish the final stages of a big project. No matter what happens you guys should be safe while we finish up, so just stay calm, okay? Don't get too reckless! Reading all of that brings a small blush to his cheeks, still a little embarrassed when people went out of their way to praise him. He hadn't really liked Clover when they first met (and he was still a bit wary around her due to her tendency to go into mom-mode), but it was moments like these he wished she had stayed with Leon. He was still too young (and naive) to recognize the issues that had driven them apart, but he had thought she was a good match for his cousin. Too bad the feeling hadn't been mutual.]

I know that much. It'd be easy just to leave it in the mailbox, but... there's something about it that makes me feel like it's important for me to have on hand. I can't explain it very well, but it's... significant, somehow. With all of this and school, though, I doubt I can take anything else on without letting my grades slip. [Because. You know. Staying on top of Honor Roll and aiming for Valedictorian is hard, okay--]

[ Clover does think he does have bratty qualities, but she's aware he's only 13. There was more than one good thing to come out of dating Leon, but one of the better things was meeting a good kid like Xiaolang. They might not always get along perfectly, but she can get behind his priorities. ]

You have time yet to decide how you handle this issue. There's no use rushing it right now.

Oh, I don't doubt that Leon is skilled. That's not the point I'm making. He may have more experience, but I find you have a more level temperament, especially when I consider the age difference. You have more time and potential to develop sharper judgment.

I don't know if I do. I'm not sure how much others have told you, about the sort of things that happened in the city prior to receiving the app, but... the past few months seemed to be a little too quiet compared to what previously happened. It seems too much like the calm before a storm for my tastes.

[Look, Sakura had something nearly drown her back in October, and he was entirely unaware of it, so he's... kind of put a lot of thought and agonizing over what he could do to properly protect her, okay--]

But I don't think Leon's the type to act recklessly with that sort of thing. He may get, um... ahead of himself, with certain things, but he knows when to exercise caution and make rational decisions when the time calls for it. [Not that he's been doing that very well lately, but..... he can't help but defend his cousin, just a bit.]

I can't claim to know everything that has transpired since Retrospec came to be, but I've done my fair share of research. There are dangerous occurrences that have happened, and statistically, there will likely be more, but I don't want you to rush into things. You're not reckless, but I don't want you to worry yourself into a frenzy. You can accidentally harm yourself by trying to hurry too much. You will have support from the people who care about you, for the things and people you want to protect. Please consider the people around you and take care of yourself.

Reckless isn't what I would call him. Hotheaded is. I ran into him trying to deal with the bats from last month, and I was reminded of how he could be. He is intelligent, but there is a level of hubris you can gain with age. Mostly, I was joking earlier, but you can't deny he gets a little too confident at times. It's not always a flaw.

[ Leon's confidence is one of the things she found attractive at first, but that's not something she'll tell Xiaolang any time soon. She's sure he doesn't want to hear it. She doesn't mind that he wants to defend his cousin. It's what she'd do with her sisters. It's what family does. ]
