I don't know how to deal with it. A friend tells me that the actions of 'past me' doesn't define 'current me' but... I'm not sure if murder counts. I doubt it.
My personal beliefs on that matter don't precisely line up with that way of thinking, either. Dismissing it as the actions of another person entirely doesn't sit well with me, and as far as I'm concerned it doesn't absolve us of anything.
Being rash about it is equally nonsensical, of course. But if you find the general insistence that our past actions have nothing to do with us to not seem sound, you aren't the only one.
There are generally always people on this network that are willing to listen to these things. Complete strangers in a fair amount of cases, but the advice is generally not terrible in my experience.
I don't mind discussing these things myself, should you want to for whatever reason. There are a few that I've done such things for, usually other people who have...difficult memories, let's say, connected to their past life. If it interests you, fine. If not, I'm hardly offended.
Contact me whenever you like, should you decide to. I'm not shocked by much, nor does anything really upset me; my own memories have had more than enough atrocities and abominations in them to guarantee that I won't question much.
If I say that past you and current you are different people, it doesn't make any sense to go 'unless past you was really bad, then you have to suffer for his choices'. I mean you're different people, no exceptions based on moral character or crimes committed.
It's fine if you have a different opinion about it, but I'm not going to take back my stance no matter what you remember.

[This is definitely code for 'I do not want to talk about this with you even if it could vastly improve my peace of mind and overall happiness'. Shuji sighs heavily and is glad Oda can't see the face he's making.]
Wesker's a good person to talk to, if you feel like you can't talk to me about this. He has the Shuji seal of recommendation.

It's not something I make a secret of.

I was, too, I think.

Do you have someone to discuss these things with, or are you more interested in dealing with it on your own?

Not that I'll be turning myself in to the police.
