TEXT ♞ IT WASN'T ME, MA
If Retrospec gives you an item that you suspect is a murder weapon, what do you do with it? Should it be turned into the police or do you just keep it somewhere...? And what if you accidentally already got your fingerprints all over it...?
... hypothetically asking.
... hypothetically asking.

Yeah, I... kind of wrote everything in a rush so it definitely doesn’t look that good...

I suppose I can't fault you for thinking that, but now we know curiosity killed the cat and handed you the murder weapon.
It makes you sound highly suspicious. It's likely why so many people have asked you if you're a murderer outright.

I'm starting to really regret ever picking up this item.
Yeah, there are a lot of people asking... but I think the other problem is that most people only receive items that they've own before in the past, right? I know for a fact that this isn't mine and that I didn't use it, but it's hard to disprove that when everyone's experience so far is them just getting their own items...

Hindsight is 20/20.
The mystery deepens. Either your other life is complex enough that it made Retrospec's systems glitch, this is something new that Retrospec incorporated and implemented, or it still somehow fits within the parameters. How sure are you it isn't yours? It's possible it could be your knife, but someone else tried to use it to frame you.

... I didn't even think of it that way. I always assumed that the knife wasn't mine because I know I didn't use it but it's a regular kitchen knife. I could have owned it with some other kitchen supplies. Plus, the murder did happen in my room, more specifically in my bathroom, and I 100% know that I didn't do it so maybe you're onto something.
Being framed sounds like a likely possibility.

Clover is awed from this description that Naegi didn't think he was being framed. ]
That sounds like a complete set up.
Were you that hated, or were you that gullible?
[ Or was he an idiot? Clover wants to bet on these last two options. ]

I don't know if I was hated but I guess I'm kind of gullible? Maybe?
If I'm really honest and my other self is similar to who I am now, I suppose I'm a little naive...?

That's a frank assessment of yourself. It's prudent to have that kind of self-awareness. I don't think it's wrong to think good of other people, but if you're accepting to the point that people would plant murder weapons on you, it's obviously become a problem.
