002 - Octopus's Garden In the Shade

[Today on the hot mess that is Retrospec, somebody's either fallen asleep on their keyboard or allowed their cat to play with the computer for too long, 'cause there's a solid string of this for about a minute straight.]

[The first photo is a blurry image of Gar screaming, with only his head and upper chest visible. Something long and twisty is visible at the edge of the frame.

The second is a slightly less blurry image of a... realistic-looking octopus tentacle, for some reason.

The last is an image of Gar's bare chest underneath a ripped shirt, which no one ever really wanted to see, but we're all being traumatized today so just go with it. Everything looks normal up until the part where his shoulder attaches to the octopus tentacle in the previous picture.

now explain how this happened - did you wake up with it, or did it occur?

no its fine i'm gonna leave a note for my parents saying i'm joining the circus
they'll think i'm living a great life filled with cotton candy and circus tricks

and yeah i just woke up like this

physically, how do you feel? in pain, dizzy, lightheaded, any of that?

yes to everything but that might be because i've been screaming and running into things for like five minutes straight

would you mind sitting down for a few minutes and trying to breathe as evenly as you can? i know, physical changes are incredibly distressing, but better to not lapse into hyperventilation.

you also aren't aware of your breathing until you think about it. once someone mentions it you're then breathing with an effort until you forget.

...actually that's a lie i've never been less calm except for maybe ten minutes ago when i woke up
