retrospec | loading...overflow

Hello, everyone! As you've probably noticed, we've been having a few problems - I mentioned earlier that something got knocked out of balance, and we had to recalibrate, but in a few days we should be able to drop the emergency measures. Please be aware that there is an incoming storm, class four. General orders for that kind of thing are to report to management for any known threats and follow instructions, but so far what's known is "that might be a little annoying" and "hope it isn't". Theoretically it'll probably be related to the holiday, I think, because a large group of souls focused through the needle of a pin on one thing can sort of shape a thing around them.

That's sort of a really inaccurate way to put it on the technical side of things, but I think it's the easiest way to understand it! At any rate, we'll know more once we're in the thick of things. Please take care as usual; resources aren't exactly what some of you seem to think they are, and we had to expend rather more than usual in the past month or so to keep things with a few of you steady.

Sort of... but a joke is more like being clever in order to make someone happy, and all I was doing is being dumb for no reason. (Although sometimes I feel like I'm being serious about something, but then I realize it was actually stupid and made no sense the entire time?) (I mean, I do kind of zone out a lot. My mom says I'm a natural airhead.)

I think in cases like that the idea is that, the target feels bad, but that makes the people in the group making fun of that person happy?

I was okay at English but I was quiet and my accent was bad so no one stopped to listen enough to know that... it wasn't about being white or not at least just dofferent but the worst was white yeah

anyway I just stopped talking and then they made fun of that too

Oh yeah the accent ... that'd do it I guess. That's another one I had, where they'd do a fake voice of my accent, even though in real life I didn't particularly even have an east Asian accent? But at that point it doesn't even matter.

Anyway yeah. There really isn't a lot you can do. People are always like, "oh, fight back," or "oh, just don't respond," or "oh, just respond in this or that way," but most of the time I don't think it really matters what we do. We weren't the ones in charge of making the decision.

Well, I'll take what I can get. (you hear stories sometimes about people having late growth spurts, but I think attempting to cultivate a stance of radical self-acceptance is a better bet at this point)
