I've been told they need regular exercise. I guess I can have someone else ride him until I'm confident enough.

Of those that you've spoken to, is there anyone who could do that?
I'm afraid I can't offer because I've also never ridden a horse.

I think so. I'm taking him to the stables now and will discuss it with management there once I get him a space.

To put plainly, it is to ease a sense of shame I have.
I hadn't wanted to help save the mayor or the others kidnapped.
I hadn't wanted to be involved in it.

[ Not that it was dangerous and he couldn't do anything. He simply did not care enough. ]

I used you as a convenient excuse to allow me to not be involved.
If anyone asked me why I did not do more, I could say that someone far better than I had told me I would only get in the way.
I still believe you to be the better man.
But I used your words spoken with righteousness to be my excuse and umbrella to remain uninvolved.
As such, I owe you a debt even if you do not see it.
