For those of you who have careers right now, or are working on them:
What lead you to it?
Do you like it or is it just a job to you?
After you got memories back would you rather be doing what you are in those memories?

There's an actual social work major! You end up with a Bachelor's of Social Work, and then a Masters of Social Work. I went to Rec U for my bachelor's too, the program is really good! and for a job shadow we'd have the client sign off on allowing you to sit in, there's a bunch of paperwork that's required but it's pretty common! Everyone in the program job shadows, I've even had someone on the app job shadow with me.

Of course! That's pretty common too, since we want students to know what they're getting into. You'd have to contact the Placement Administrator in my office, I can give you the number if you want (◠‿◠✿)

I should mention that... well, you probably know already that some people don't think very highly of social workers. Particularly foster kids who've had a bad case worker or a bad experience with the foster system overall. I don't mean to discourage you at all! But it's better to know these kinds of things up front.

Her number is [Insert number here]. You'll have to fill out a bunch of forms first, but it helps that you already know someone to shadow with! Just mention me and she'll be able to push things through pretty quick, since she already has my registration number and everything. And then we can figure out a good time to do this!

No problem. I'd love it if everyone interested in this job could stay idealistic and passionate about it forever, but I can't ignore the way some people feel about us. It's better to know and be prepared.
