Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently. Characters who have been in game for one month will find they can now change their profile pictures; newcomers are locked into their first choice.

Upon opening this entry at all, characters will find themselves spammed with notifications and strange glitched texts until they make some sort of suggestion for a new application feature on the Retrospec app. This can range from a personalized friends list to a watermelon image gallery to a watergun charging station. It doesn't have to make sense or be useful - it just has to be a suggestion, at which point the application will return to normal.

This post is an overflow from the original post here. Feel free to either carry over threads from there or create entirely new ones.

Oh! I'm sorry. I shouldn't assume.
I don't really have much use for any professional photographs, but I think it could be fun.
It's nice to meet other artists, too. Introduce us some time.

I'm not really sure. That's sort of funny, isn't it? You'd think I would know how coding compares across mediums, but I really have no idea. I'm sure it's just as challenging.

Fairly. I finished with my graduate program less than a year ago. I've built a few robots, but they've been fairly rudimentary. I'm actually more interested in AI development. It's what my research is focused in.

A little. I haven't played with things like that. But after the algorithm scare on Youtube a few months prior, I figure coding was more complicated than I originally thought.

Congratulations! What kind of robots have you built?

[The idea of creating AIs makes her slightly uneasy. With the theory of humanity losing control of AIs that learn to manipulate humanity as much as computer data has always been an issue over the types of AIs that can learn from their mistakes. Fiction isn't wrong in showing the worse case scenarios of humans playing God.]

What type of AIs are you currently researching? Is it to help improve them in their specific fields? Like, in helping humanity by translating foreign languages or to better help health care specialists...?

A huge fan. It's a little embarrassing, really. I find his wisdom helpful even in day to day life, to help me understand things beyond me.

I'm not sure I can think of a passage to apply to something like that, though. If only we could ask him his opinion.

It's nothing to be embarrassed about. His works are overflowing with both the most tragic sort of wisdom, and the most biting wit. What more is there to ask?

With time, maybe we'll find ourselves in a more agreeable situation where this is all concerned. For now I think we're unfortunate stuck in a wait-and-see situation; even Shakespeare would have to concede to that.

Well.. I can think of a few reasons. But I don't think you're wanting to hear them.
I'll say that horses are wonderful creatures, though.
If you knew one, diamond or not, you're fortunate.

Not.. quite. But there were some factors that might have led to that.

[ like the fact that their phones wouldn't stop playing mid-2000s crunk rap. that was a big factor. ]

I think the app has a lot of potential either way. I'm going to choose to look at it as positively as I can.. for now.
That might just be the developer in me talking. I like to see things succeed.

Setting the example for the rest of us. :)

You're probably right, though I've got plenty of reservations right now. The glitchiness is one thing, but some of this app's capabilities aren't even logical.
