Upon opening this entry at all, characters will find themselves spammed with notifications and strange glitched texts until they make some sort of suggestion for a new application feature on the Retrospec app. This can range from a personalized friends list to a watermelon image gallery to a watergun charging station. Also consider the fact that my server isn't detecting any program of that nature.

Or the glitches means something else. I'm still trying to figure out what the 'remember' is suppose to mean.

...This is getting quickly into the realms of conspiracy, but considering I apparently had forgotten that horses existed up until this morning...Is that implying that one of the added benefits of his application is to remember? As if that's some sort of prize?

They might be. Which means that either we're able to see them through something we haven't figured out yet, or there's more to the company running the app then just one layer.

Horses still remained in my company's game - as fictional and impossible creatures. But it does feel strange. Why would any company be doing this is beyond me.

For what limited exposure I've had with this, I'm already starting to think that you're right. Or else this is a very strange bout of coincidences. Either way it makes no sense.

TBH I'm just waiting for the next shoe to drop.

Only in a game setting as a game mechanic and not considered any way usable or lifelike in any way.

That still makes me wonder if there are other areas where they weren't completely wiped out. Is there anything unique about your game?

I don't think so? It's from a series of popular MMO that mix some JRPG elements with standard dungeon crawling and world building.
